Good set of steps
Really like these steps for our hottub. Was a little afraid that they would be to short but they work perfectly for our Hot Springs hottub. Assembly wasn’t to difficult. I did use a mallet as others suggested. They are really stable and the storage works well for all the hottub items you need.

DOES NOT come fully assembled!!!! Comes in pieces. Tools Required. WARNING!
I am giving this five stars because of how it functions as a finished product. However, it DOES NOT come fully assembled as currently advertised. It comes in pieces!!! Repeat: ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. WITH TOOLS. To assemble this thing, you need an electric drill and a wide rubber mallet. I cannot emphasize enough that you NEED that mallet to give it a few swift swats to make a few of the pieces fit (they're snug, as they probably should be for a weight-bearing step). A rubber mallet will not leave marks on this thing or break it, whereas a hammer might. The four screws are for four holes that are not predrilled. However, they are self-tapping screws, so if you're careful, you can drill them straight into the plastic in recessed indentations obviously molded for this purpose. Two of my screws did not go in easily because they ended up being a tiny bit crooked (and I'm not a novice with a cordless screwdriver -- just a normal guy in a typical hurry). But even so, the crooked screws still did their job -- the plastic seems to be fairly thick. Despite my gripe about the thing not coming fully assembled as advertised, it looks and functions fine. There is AMPLE space for my spa supplies in the 36-inch model (including tall bottles of chemicals) -- I'm extremely happy with the space. The storage space does not lock, so they advertise that you need to be wary of storing chemicals in it if you have kids (as if anyone with toddlers would let them play unsupervised around a spa that they could climb into with the help of those very steps -- duh! Lawyers.) Also, the color will look like plastic (semi-gloss in appearance). I bought the two-tone redwood steps and the redwood color looks lighter to me than in the pictures, even in the shade where my spa sits. But it's really not that bad -- but let's just say there's no hiding the fact it's plastic. It took only a few minutes to get used to and it looks sort of sharp and inviting. And it's a definite improvement over the rotting wood steps it replaced. P.S. I think it took me longer to write this review than it did to assemble the steps.

Nice spa steps
These steps are nice once assembled. But the assembly was a challenge. Getting the plastic tabs to seat into the locking holes is very hit or miss, some join together on the first try, others will leave you screaming in frustration. The screws provided are not self tapping like the manual says, so make sure you have a small drill bit handy for assembly. Also, the step surface does have a nice non slip "wood grain" texture. Though I think the texutre could be more raised to make it even more non-slip. The built in storage is very nice for keeping all your spa gear close. It says not for chemicles but honestly that's what I'm using it for and don't really see a reason why not. (Maybe the summer heat isn't good for some chems). Over all I'm very satisfied with the looks and the function. Just the manual and assembly reduced my rating.

Best Spa Stairs You Can Get
Are these spa stairs overpriced? Yes. But are they the best you can get? 100% So happy we decided on these for our new hot tub. They’re long and gracious and incredibly sturdy! They look expensive and make the whole spa experience feel even fancier. Plus the fact that it can hide all of our cleaning supplies is just incredible. It fits all our really tall bottles too, so if you’re worried like I was, don’t be! So much storage! Hard to assemble? A bit, but we were able to put together in about 15 minutes with no issues! Also, you don’t need a rubber mallet - literally just stepped on the pieces into place. All these spa stairs are overly expensive for some reason, but go ahead and spend the extra $100 for these - I promise the investment is worth it!

Size and sturdiness is perfect. Assembly was easy. The directions straight forward. I would recommend to others.

Versatile Outdoor Spa Steps
These steps just solved the "no steps" problem I had for over a decade with the concrete backporch of my townhouse I bought way back in 2014! Specifically bought the storage version so I could insert bags of stone just to weigh them down. Yes it requires 2 people to assemble, but here's what they don't tell you. Do this outside on a sunny day and let the pieces warm in the sun while you work. Makes the pieces more pliable so the stair treads will pop in the grooves. Don't forget a good rubber mallet! Can't speak to longevity yet, but given they're made for outdoor spa use where they consistently get wet, I think they'll work out great. Beats the heck out of hiring a carpenter and at a fraction of the price, I recommend!

Assembly required!! And good luck with that...
I don't often write reviews (no time), but I decided to for this step because of one glaring incorrect statement in the listing and a major issue with the construction. First of all...assembly is required (listing states "No assembly required"). This is false and although this isn't normally a big deal for me because I've assembled much more complicated items, what is a big deal is that the pieces don't fit together. The instructions state to use a rubber mallet (I have two, so I used the bigger one) and after building the 'frame', you attach the lower step by lining up the board and pounding it into place with the mallet....except that only one side of the step will go in. I used all my strength to try to get it to pop in the other side with no avail. All that happened was that it started to make a dent in the plastic next the actual cut out where it's supposed to pop in. So, I would say the manufacturing is not very good (or I just got a bad step). In order to be able to use this step, I am going to have to drill out the plastic to the side of the cut out on the one side to allow the tab on the step piece to click into place. Certainly more than I expected to do for a 'No assembly required' spa step.

Sturdy, attractive steps which should last
The steps were packed well and all parts included. I had a friend assemble them and the process took an average amount of time, certainly not quick. Instead of using a mallet which is suggested, he used the palm of his hand to gently pound parts together. I'm using the steps for a tall ice bath that is too difficult to step into without assistance. I bought this particular brand because of the handy storage in the top step and the durable plastic finish. The steps are a little pricey but well worth the peace of mind knowing they will last and be supportive.
