Excellent Radios for the money.
I am in charge of radios for my church safety team. I worked fire/ems & law enforcement for a total of 42 years. During that time I used Motorola, GE & Johnson radios. Our safety team has Blackbox, Baofeng & Retivis radios. We're looking to get new radios, so I bought a pair of these Samcom FPCN30A to try. I must say I am really impressed, especially for the price. I purchased the programing cable & downloaded the software. It was easy to program the Samcom's to the frequencies of the other radios. They have a nice heft to them. The sound is really clear. I haven't tried to see how far I can reach, but they worked well on our campus in both buildings. I had no problem talking to the other brands of radios. The quality of the supplied headset is good. I've definitely used worse. The only problem I had was the wireless headset we use doesn't shut off the external speaker for some reason. We have 3 brands for wired headsets & they all worked fine. I looked & the plugs of the wired sets are a little thicker then the wireless. I have a Samcom wireless coming & I'll review that when it comes. I really like the GROUP Call Function. When you push the GROUP OK button, the other Samcom radios will pick up the transmission, no matter what channel they are on. The other non-Samcom radios wouldn't receive the call, if on a different channel. However, I did find if I programmed the Group call for example, channel 15, they would receive the call on channel 15, no matter what channel the Samcom is on. I like the belt clip on the radio, it seems sturdy. On our old radios, I have bent & broken the flimsy belt clips. The antenna's on the Samcom is the same length as the radios I used as a first responder. Some of the guys complained they were too long. Samcom has other lengths available. The antennas from our other radios fit & seemed to work fine. My only real complaint is that if you use the scan function, you have to scan all 20 channels. There's no way to lock out channels, even when using the programing. The radios are simple to use. You don't have to use any buttons on the front for basic functions. Even using the buttons on the front is simple. You can use the lock function to lock not only the buttons, but also the channel, so no accidentally changing channels, which happens to some people. All in all, I really like these radios. I highly recommend them. They are excellent radios for the money.

Pretty good radio set
Purchased a set and have used it during camping and hunting trips. No issues with range, audio quality and battery life. It works well in the woods at long distances (tested it with up to ~1.5 miles). Battery was at ~75% after 5 hours of active usage. Had an issue with a one of headsets (it was always broadcasting, even if the talk button was not pressed). But contacted support, has received two of them as a replacement.

Great product!
We used Samson Technologies radios at a large football stadium event, and they performed flawlessly from start to finish. The communication was consistently clear, even in a loud, high-energy environment. One feature we especially appreciated was the lock functionโit prevented accidental changes and gave us peace of mind during the event. Overall, extremely reliable and easy to useโhighly recommend for large-scale events.

Solid radios with good performance
I bought these radios to test and the more I used them the more I find them adequate for general GMRS use compared to more complicated brands. The user manual isn't great, but this is typical when the assumption is that the end user will program them. You can talk right out of the box though if you don't have need to do any special programming. There is no included option to charge other than the charging cradles, but you can order car chargers for them or use an inverter for your car or truck and use the included charging cradles. Overall a good, solid radio for those that don't want or need super complex radios for hiking, camping, etc. The radios do what they're supposed to and deliver very close to the advertised TX power. They are also repeater compatible if this is needed.

Thrilled to have these!
I wanted to wait to write any kind of review until these had been tested out at an event. I work as a fundraiser who deals mostly with the large events of my organization. These are typically anywhere from 200 people up to about 400-ish. They are indoors either at a hotel or an event space which matters for sound quality. In the past, we've rented radios from a "telecommunications equipment supplier" so our team could stay connected throughout events. We thought renting them through this company would give us the highest quality. Nope. We had the walkies and ear pieces that actually go IN the ear (earbuds) with the mic, but we could never understand what each other was saying. We gave up renting from them. On a whim, I purchased these knowing that if they were terrible, I could return them. And if they work, great! They're a one-time purchase vs renting them for each event. That's a long intro to me saying that they worked GREAT! The sounds quality was way better, I was concerned that the ear pieces wouldn't really work given that they sit on top of the ear, not in, but they were fantastic- even with a lot of loud background noise. The event we just had was in a large event space spread over 4 large rooms. We had no issues with connectivity and the batteries lasted the length of the event from 5-11:00 PM. I'm sure they lasted longer than that, but that was my minimum requirement. The walkies were even a little lighter than the ones that we would rent. I can't recommend these highly enough. If you're on the fence, go for it!

Convenient, professional and full of great features!
I've used various two-way radios over the years, and have found some really good ones and some really bad ones. Let me start off from the beginning saying that these are excellent radios. While many two-way radios on the market today are pretty much all alike and clones of each other, the SAMCOM FPCN30A is not only solid, but has features found on no other radios. The one feature I am excited about the most in using this radio is the ease of contacting any of my SAMCOM radios, even though everyone else is using different channels. The group button on these radios automatically sends out your voice to any similar radios programmed with the same frequencies, no matter what channel they are using. For instance, if Team 1 is using Channel 2, and Team 3 is using Channel 8, while administrators are on Channel 12, you can transmit with the easy-to-press GROUP button, and everyone in your fleet will hear your message on the designated group channel, no matter what channel they are using. This feature is easy to program with any frequency, channel and subaudible code. This is a feature found only on radios that often cost hundreds and thousands of dollars. Communications are crystal clear for considerable distances, depending on your terrain. These radios also offer voice-inversion encryption, which can be programmed via the software and enabled in the radio's menu. This allows you to switch back and forth between clear and encrypted communications with ease. Other easy functions include low or high power, subaudible or digital code and more. I'm still amazed at how well the group call function works much like that on radios costing many more times the amount of these SAMCOM units. These radios would be good for use at large-scale events where up to 19 teams can have their own channels while the 20th channel becomes your GROUP calling channel, ready to find anyone on any team without switching channels!

I don't recommend it for long distances
I had high hopes for these walkie talkies, but they didnโt meet my expectations at all. The sound quality was poor โ full of static, and it was hard to understand the person on the other end. The range was much shorter than advertised. Even at a short distance, the signal would cut out or get very weak
