Nice product and works well. Fast delivery. A part of the switch mechanism was loose inside but was easy to fit back together.

Royal Mail picked up the item the day after the order was placed for a 24-hr delivery, but delivered it 6 days latter. The explanation is probably the snow flakes that fell the day after the pick up. From previous experience, Royal Mail cancel deliveries at the first sign of a snow flake and then after that have melted incur further delay in coping with the back log. In the mean time tracked items are flagged as 'premises inaccessible'. This is whilst other carriers are delivering parcels as normal. Even builders merchants are unloading heavy consignments to the premises. Royal Mail should loose its monopoly on letter post. The item itself is fine. Being small, It is a bit fiddly for large fingers to make the connections, but that is normal. The connector block for the protective conductor is easily removed to allow the conductor to pass through without cutting, which slightly improves reliability. The chord grips work well. The electrical creepage and flash distances easily meet the requirements of the regulations. The switching action is positive. Should the contacts need cleaning at some future date, it is easy of dismantle and reassemble. The only slightly weak point is the size of the spindles of the rocker, but if a finger is used with a wiping action rather than pressing down hard, the life should be satisfactory.

Neat switch and does what is intended to do. Switch was used to replace a failed switch on a table lamp. Agree with some other reviews about being somewhat fiddly to connect up terminals, especially the earth wire that needs a slightly longer length than the live/ neutral connections. The rocker switch can become dislodged but I used a narrow length of electrical tape to hold it in place whilst connecting the wires. That being said, for the price it is a reasonably good switch. Just need to be patient as it is not a 2 minute job.

This is a reasonable product that allows you to rewire or add an inline switch to a power cable. Wiring both sides is similar to wiring a plug. Note it is designed for two wires so not for cables with an earth wire. There is also a limit to the amount of power that can safely pass through which the main description should cover. Be careful when opening the switch as it has loose parts, although it is not to difficult to figure out how they fit back in. For safety, if you have any doubt, open it and take a picture before you start wiring it up in case the central switch parts fall out.

I bought this look-alike switch as the one feeding an attractive brass table lamp had become intermittent. The switch was easy to fit. It had a dedicated feed through earth connector, which I needed to use in my case, which also makes wiring easier if you ever need to replace or extend the main cable. For safety when changing light bulbs, the switch breaks both power wires (double pole switch).

This switch does what it says on the tin but, to be honest, if it was only 5-10mm bigger on all sides it would be perfect. As other reviewers say, it's an extremely tight fit to get everything wired up. Not insurmountable if you have good eyesight (or glasses!), and decent wirecutters/strippers and screwdrivers. You'd struggle to wire this up without the appropriate tools, though (which is probably true of most switches). One tip I would offer is to prise the earth connector out and wire that up first, then cut the neutral and live conductors to length using that as the measure. Note that the tolerances are so tight that the conductor farthest away from the earth connector needs to be slightly longer than the conductor in the middle. It is also pretty tricky to have enough external insulator left to get caught by the wire clamps - making sure all your cuts and strips are to the required length is key. But... the above is really intended to be some guidance into how best to wire the switch. It's a neat switch that's good value for money.
