White LED light for XtremeAir Range Hoods, 2w 12V, NOT for any other brands

Perfect drop in replacement. Thanks to earlier buyer comments on installation tips: use one finger to reach inside and press down on the connector and push the bulb side connector in till the clip snaps. They made installation a snap! Note: you may want to scrape off any excess grease in the vicinity before hand so grease does not get into the connector.

Had an "un-named" range hood in the house when we moved in. After 1 year the lights went dim, so much so you couldn't see they were even on. After some searching found the manufacturer (AKDY) and they were out of stock on replacement lights. Went to Amazon and saw these listed as fitting, just requiring a rewire. Sure enough, they fit perfectly and are 10 times whiter and brighter than the factory lights. Keep the old light for the connector, cut it with enough slack for a wire sleeve, attach the two wires in the sleeve, and it fits perfectly. Been a few months and love the amount of light they give off, very white and clear.

These LED light did fit my XtremeAir range hood just perfectly! Replaced my 5+yrs old LEDs that had started to flicker... First I ordered these lights in 'yellow', hoping they were towards the 'warm-white' color range, but they were bright yellow-yellow.. but had no issue returning and replacing them with these ones, 'cold white' but much better than the yellows, just like my old ones, but sleeker, no longer some odd 20 little LEDs bulbs showing. My only complaint is the price-point that these are at, 4 lamps = some $60 + tax, at least I think that's a bit steep..

I replaced the 2+5/8" diameter from my intertek 5004880 which had cheap LEDs whose surface-mound resistors simply fell off of the PCB after a couple of months, as if they were never designed to be used above room temperature. I did have to splice the wires, and bend out the retaining clamps a little bit, but they work wonderfully. I tried some baking in my gas oven to subject these to some heat for about an hour, and they seem fine.

The light itself is good quality and it would work great if they were only mounted about 2ft above the stove surface but I was around 3-4ft above the surface and it was too much of a flood and light faded, I ended up going with a Winflo product, more of a spot light.. But again the quality is very good.

My only complaint with my XtremeAir range hood was that the lights were not bright enough. These new lights resolve that complaint. They provide plenty of light, were easy to install. I would happily buy them again, when needed.

I'm afraid I am not happy with these replacement light fixtures. On a positive note, installation is very simple and quick. But, they are much dimmer than the originals and there is a sort of greenish tinge to the light which reminds me of that sickly color cast by old fashioned institutional florescent lights. Makes food I am preparing on the stovetop look very unappealing in my opinion. The originals bulbs where much brighter, with a bluish-white light. I checked to confirm that I ordered the white and not the yellow bulbs, so not sure what the deal is. I will be looking for alternatives I think.
