Top picture quality, Great audio, Average build quality.
The Hisense H908E plus offers exceptional TV picture quality for the asking price. Contrast, colours, 4k content and even 1080p content show distinct sharpness and clarity along with very good upscaling. HDR and Dolby Vision content over streaming sites like Netflix are well displayed and are indicated when such content is being shown in the top right corner of the screen. The upper part of the panel is very thin, while the lower portion is thicker by comparison which leads me to think this TV features edge lit local dimming and most of the internals are housed in the thicker section of the TV. On this note when the right settings are dialed in (and trust me there are quite a lot of settings if you so desire) blacks appear black, however, in some dark scenes particularly when viewed in a dark room minor picture clouding may be noticed. It has a 120hz refresh Panel at 1080p though I have not had the opportunity to test it for gaming. The TV possesses an Android interface that is snappy(something which surprised me since others have complained about the lagginess of Android TV os on Sony TVs ) with built in chrome cast features that work well. Installing Google TV apps like Plex, CNN along with the pre-installed Netflix, YouTube apps etc. have increased the usefulness of the TV. The built in speakers are very, very good,so much so you won't need an additional sound bar unless you're an audiophile. Harmon Kardon speakers on the rear of the TV produce clear, rich sound in content from movies to music. The remote is reasonably sized with a decent array of most used buttons, and feels ergonomically good in hand albeit while not being the most premium feeling of remotes. One gripe is that the navigational down button and home key could have done with more spacing between the two as pressing the down button sometimes results in also pressing the home key. The TV shows decent build quality at best but is reasonably attractive and slim and more than makes up in both picture and audio quality. I'd easily rank this above the TCL R Series in terms of picture quality even though I don't think it has full array local dimming and would put it as being comparable against most mid range sets by more recognized brands like Sony, Samsung, LG etc both. Having taken a leap of faith and been rewarded with what seems to be a great television my only concern is possible longevity as Hisense is relatively new to the western markets when it comes to their Television lines.

Android TV??
While it does have its own version of an app store, it is not Android. It does have a YouTube app to sign in and watch YouTube content and also has Chromecast built in so you can cast content to it. In a way you can cast your Android screen to the TV making it an Android TV but it's not the same. There will be video lag and sound does not transfer over to TV. Overall the TV is great but having an actual build ofAndroid it does not.

Best quality for the price
This set has excellent picture quality that is crisp and clear. The brightness and contrast punches above it's price point and the colors are true and realistic. If you try it you would like it, I guarantee it.

No sense in buying this 55 in Hisense TV.
Oh where to start for this TV, that I returned. First off let's start with the continual loss of signal for your Wi-Fi - doesn't matter what channel. Then let's move on to the locked applications that don't allow Amazon to be on the TV. Then let's move to the remote control that is obviously sponsored by YouTube AKA Google. I return this thing super fast and bought a Samsung instead. I've owned 3 Hisense TVs in the past this one has been the worst, it's almost as if they took a Android OS from a phone and put it into a TV, it just doesn't work...

Awesome TV
I have only had my Hisense television for a short time but I am already loving it. Great purchase. The picture is sharp, the colors are vibrant and the refresh rate has been excellent no matter what I have been watching. The sound is very good as well. I had intended to purchase a sound bar but I am finding that I do not need to do that. This TV compares well to other more expensive TV’s that I have purchased in the past (It is at least as good – and in some cases better – than those more costly televisions.) I definitely recommend this television.
