101 More Track Plans for Model Railroaders

It was about time there was a sequel to the original 101 track plans for model railroaders and this one is definitely worth the wait. This catches up on many plans from the 1960's up to the present day (publishing dates, not layout era's) The plans are presented in color although the text for each is very sprase, this book is more for you to get an idea of or from the plans. To complete a plan totally you would need more info if you are a beginner but many of these plans were from project railroads in which case you could possibly still get the original publication with the full text to help you build one. More experienced modelers should easily be able to complete a layout just from these pics. In any case this book has tons (101) of ideas to help you plan your layout and I highly reccommend this one to add to your library.

American railroads are different to railways in the UK. I visit a lot of model railway shows and have frequently been struck by just how many exhibition layouts have become mere dioramas.Action is infrequent and only too often, operators seem to be too self absorbed to understand that visitors invariably want to see action and movement.If you want larger scale layouts which offer plenty of action with continuous running through the imaginative use of loops and other devices, this is the book you should buy.The plans have been submitted by a number of different contributors ensuring a variety of approach and those designed for "N" gauge are particularly imaginative permitting a realistic sense of scale.American ralroads also offer the modeller a greater opportunity to feature different industrial environments in which more complex and satisfying shunting experiences can be gained.The plans included in this volume are incredibly interesting. They are not necessarily better, but differentand thought provoking for anyone interested in model railways.

Rating from Germany, so my English ist not so good.Same text then for the book "One Hundred and One Track Plans for Model Railroaders" because I ordered both for the same reason.American tracks are different than the European ones. In Germany it is difficult to find American track plans. So I ordered the book in USA. The delivery was quite fast despite the long distance.The track plans in the book are well selected. From small track plans to huge model railway layouts. For me, I found a lot of ideas in the book that I can integrate into my own track plans. For me, the purchase has paid off.

I didn't really find this book that useful. I am designing a new layout and I am using a plan from 101 for level one. I have been struggling with what to use for level 2. I thought 101 more would give me some ideas, but sadly it didn't. It is a good book, a little more modern in track plan design (both good and bad), but just didn't really help me that much. I wound up choosing another plan from 101 TP's for the layout. I am making a two level 13x13 with walk around room with a method of getting trains from one level to another without a helix. I am in the beginning stages ....

This follow up brings the total to 202 track plans. Some are smaller than I would ever use and some are larger than I could ever dream of building. But whether too large or too small they all inspire my thought process as I design my layout. I can use certain elements as inspiration for a particular section of my future layout whether I use the whole layout design or not. All in all this is a great reference for those working at the planning stage of their layouts.

Lo compré para un regalo y estuvo bien.

It's got layouts, but they are just drawings. There are no listings for the track needed to complete the layouts

I bought this for ideas prior to building a model layout when I move at the end of the year. It has given me plenty but as yet I am unsure what space I'll have available. I will most probably use a combination of ideas for both the shape and track layout.

Excellent book, although it did not cater for my size of layout, it gave me loads of ideas I can adapt

Pues mas de lo mismo y me ha decepcionado. La portada y el fragmento que te puedes descargar de kalmbach dan a entender que son circuitos con vistas 3d, edificios etc... y aparte del de la portada, el resto son vistas aereas planas como siempre. Decepcion.
