Garbage Disposal Air Switch Kit Sink Top with Long Button,Matte Black(Brass cover)

A welcome relief from reaching back nearly thirty inches to flip a switch, this product went in easily and fit the sink perfectly. All hardware included, no missing pieces, and a nice shape to the button make this a breeze to install and use. There are NO instructions, although if you don't know how and can't figure it out I recommend having this installed by a professional anyway, because it deals with electricity and is partially exposed to a wet environment. There are also no markings whatsoever on the outlet housing, which made me immediately want to return the product for the lack of approved safety listings, however I took a breath and looked it over, and decided to take the housing apart. All the internal wiring is rated to 300 volts and 15+ amps, and all components used by the manufacturer appear to bear legitimate UL listing marks. The power cord connections to the outlets show circuit continuity to common, load, and ground, and no cross continuity. The resistance over the line is under 100 milli ohms (meter showed between 0.0 and 0.1 ohm). The button is responsive and offers a good level of resistance, and needs to be depressed about 3/8 inch to activate the micro switch in the unit. If pressed with a flat object the button can only go down about 1/16 to 1/8 inch, so there is very little chance of accidental activation. The bottom outlet is switched and the upper outlet is normally on, so you can use it to power your instant hot as well. 15 amp rated receptacles, 16 amp rated switch, 15 amp, 600 volt rated main cord that splits into two 300 volt rated circuits. This is a surprisingly affordable, well built with listed components unit which makes it a fantastic value.

I have had this for a while, about 2-3 years and I really like it. The finish is still in very good condition. The finish matched really good with my faucet.

Simple installation. Works as designed. Color matches other champagne bronze/gold devices.

We have a Delta Champagne Bronze faucet and this doesn't match perfectly, but close enough. We tried something like 5 other models/brands and this was the best color match.

This uses air to activate the disposal. My undersink switch was lazily installed with both receptacles activated by the disposal switch. Instead of having to tear apart the walls and counters to run the additional wiring to make one of the receptacles always on, I figured I'd give this a go. The hardest part was drilling the hole in the sink for the push button as the other holes were already in use (one of the reasons for this was for a tankless reverse osmosis unit that needs power). I used a step bit from harbor freight for that. Worked like a champ. I was pleasantly surprised to realize that there was no electricity used for the activation switch. It is basically a hydraulic lock air pump switch. No chance of getting a stray electrical connection to your sink to shock you. I shortened the air line a bit and it requires less of a push on the button to activate the disposal, but took about 30 minutes to install and get working. So far no problems at all.

Countertop install for garbage disposal

Put this in when we replaced our sink. Since our sink is in the middle of our island, there isn't a convenient wall to put the garbage disposal switch on. Our electrician told us about this switch so I found it on Amazon and installed it myself. Easy to put in and it looks awesome on our countertop! When we have people over they comment on how nice it looks.

Took a long time to ship but it was easy to install and works very good.
