Great product when used properly
Magic Shave: Tips from 30 Years of Experience Let me share the most effective way I've found to use Magic Shave (Black and Gold can) after three decades of regular use. Getting the Mix Right: The key is in the preparation. Pour your powder in a bowl, add water, and here's the important part - let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes before mixing. This resting time makes all the difference - the powder naturally absorbs the water, making it much easier to blend. After waiting, use a spatula to mix until smooth. If needed, add small amounts of water until you get the consistency you want. A thicker mix removes hair better, but you'll need to be more careful with timing. Application Steps: 1. Do this in the shower - makes cleanup a breeze 2. Use the No Razor Shaver (Amazon item #Br48503) 3. Critical safety point: Never leave it on your skin longer than 5-7 minutes 4. For removal: - Use a spray bottle or shower water - Work against the grain at an angle - Make several passes to get everything Clean-Up: Very important - don't use a washcloth or anything abrasive when washing your face afterward! Your skin will be more sensitive, so just use your hands with gentle soap and rinse with water. Rough materials can irritate your skin. Routine: Use it every other day, not daily - your skin needs that break. Always wash gently afterward and use moisturizer, especially in winter when skin gets drier. What to Expect: - Gets rid of 99-100% of hair - No ingrown hairs - Stays smooth about two days - Black and Gold can works best Safety First: That 5-7 minute maximum on your skin is crucial - don't exceed it. The stronger your mix, the better it works, but also watch your skin more carefully. Only Real Drawback: Yes, it smells like sulfur. But the results are worth it. These techniques go beyond what's on the label, but they're proven through years of personal experience. Everyone's skin is different, but this method has worked reliably for me and many others.

Great highly recommend
Does what its supposed to do and does it really well. Overall the only thing that does feel difficult when using is the actual mixing of the product as it doesn't mix with the water easily besides that as long as you apply and let it sit and dry completely it gets rid of almost all the hair with no burning or pain sensation just apply very generously to the area and you're done.

Works great!
So I have pcos and have struggled with excess body hair since puberty and have tried just about everything to deal with it. Shaving, waxing, nair, veet, etc. and I have to say this is one of the better products I’ve tried! I did a test patch on my arm first and it worked well and didn’t bother my skin at all so I tried it last night pretty much from my toes up to my hips as well as on my bikini line and tummy. I left it on for 6 and a half minutes and man did it work! I did just like the directions said and mixed it up (in total it took about 6 tablespoons of powder plus 6 of water to cover everything) and then I used a spray bottle to keep all the spots wet when they started to dry. I used a damp rag to wipe it all away and the hair just came right off! The smell wasn’t too strong and wasn’t unpleasant, but the powder is so fine it did want to get everywhere while I was mixing it and it was a bit messy to apply. The one thing I did notice is that although it didn’t leave any tender, itchy, or painful spots on the places I applied it, it did greatly bother my hands where I have eczema at so I would definitely wear gloves next time I use it. It felt like it took off the top layer of skin on my hands, so if you have eczema or sensitive skin I would be careful with it. It left the skin on my legs super soft tho! The only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I already feel like I’m starting to get a little stubble back the next day. It’s not as bad as it usually is the day after shaving, but I was sort of under the assumption that it would be more like veet or nair where it took a couple days for the hair to grow back. Still a great product but disappointing that I’ll have to use it almost as often as I would regularly have to shave.

Smooth Results Without Razor Bumps
This shaving powder works well and leaves my skin feeling smooth without the irritation of a razor. It's easy to use, has a pleasant scent, and helps reduce razor bumps. A great option for anyone looking for a comfortable, close shave!

Good for a quick fix. Not a permanent solution.
Let me just say, it doesn't eliminate the problem. I thought it would be similar to nair, sort of. Just nair actually stinks with the chemicals, and nair burns. This doesnt burn, unless it sits on your face too long. Otherwise it doesn't smell, and it acts like its a quick shave with a razor or trimmer. I'm a female and having to take care of thick facial hair on a regular basis has been a really long, knowledgeable, and exhausting journey. I've tried everything from Nair cream (typically for legs and body), to facial strips, to electrolysis (the absolute worst if you have a low pain tolerance like I do), "European waxing" (second worst because I was given someone who couldn't grip the wax. I walked out needing to get first aid), epilator (this hurts a lot since it pulls all hairs. even peach fuzz), I've done regular waxing too.... nothing had helped... and I was finding other ways to just give me a temporary fix for the next 48 hours looking like a cactus until it grew back. After a good 20 years of this journey, and I've given up on quick fixing unless I need to work with the public. I've been just using tweezers now for the last month carefully pulling the hairs out one by one. Since its a temporary pain instead of a lasting pain from ripping something off. I have no complaints with this powder, it did what it was supposed to do, but it was also a stepping stone for me to figure out a permanent solution to removing my issue. My mid star rating is just because it wasnt really what I was looking for in the end.

My. Face. Is. On. Fire.
I think I found a review of this product in one of my daily news feed, where it was praised as something borderline miraculous that could help with ingrown hairs. For $1.75 (that should’ve been my first red flag), close to 14k reviews (at the time of this writing), and 4 stars, this was bound to truly be the shaving dream that was missing from my life. Following the instructions as a test was okay. No real irritation, but no beard came off. I brushed it off as a non-issue, and decided I would try at some other time. Enter today. Again, judiciously following the instructions, I applied the watery paste on my entire face and neck. Second red flag, the smell of hair-dissolving chemical should’ve alerted me (a la Danger, Will Robinson!), but NO, of course it was just the smell of the fragrance—or so I told myself—and set to let it sit for the suggested 7 minutes. So far so good, my skin tingled a bit, but nothing terrible just yet! The instructions said to use a damp cloth to remove the paste along with your now-dissolved beard, so I did that. As I began wiping my face, the _burn_ started to set in. You can see it in the picture: not just some of my beard came off, but parts of the upper layer of my skin, too. After I cleaned the mixture off my face with the cloth, the horrible chemical burn set in. The instructions stated to use water to clean off any excess, so I practically submerged my face in water to help with the burn, and removed what was left of the paste from my face and neck. It has been easily 15 minutes since I finished and that I decided to write this review, and my face is still burning. Needless to say, I tossed the product in the garbage, and begged my kids to not trust everything they read on the Internet. Did I mention this stuff didn’t even remove all of my beard? Funny, the instructions do state to repeat the process after 24 hours if you have any beard remaining, but there is no way on this green Earth that I am putting a spec of that stuff on my face ever again. Save yourself the pain, the discomfort, and don’t use this unless you don’t care for your face feeling and looking like it was dragged on cement.

The only review you need…photos speak for themselves
My partner has large patches of hair on his back that over the last 5 years have only gotten worse. He can’t reach it and has asked me to tend to it for awhile now. We have tried many methods and it’s always an uncomfortable experience for him and I struggle to get all of the hair. I saw this on TikTok and figured for $5 it was worth a shot. I couldn’t be more impressed with the results. It smells awful but man it was easy to use albeit a bit messy and his back is smoother than it’s probably ever been. We followed the bottle and left it on for 7 minutes. We will be using again. He told me his back was itchy the last few minutes and for a bit after but that’s the only negative and was to be expected in my opinion.
