Review: Cute capybara stacking game - This is the cutest game ever! My kids love capybaras right now so I knew I had to get this game when I saw it! It’s like jenga but much more fun with a capybara! I love that kids are working on their fine motor skills, stacking skills and color matching! It’s so much fun and perfect for game night at home and when we travel. Review: Such a fun game and easy for all ages to understand - My kids love this game! Easy for older kids to read the instructions and explain to younger kids too. I have a mix of kids play this game for the first time, I had the 11 year old read the instructions and explaine it to our 8,7,5 and 3 year old and they all understood the concept quickly and we're able to play it easily. The character on the game is super cute too. I liked that the person who ate the most fruit that week gets to go first. This game is like a type of jenga only you spin the wheel to find out which balanced colum you have to pull. The game is quick to finish maybe 10 minutes at the longest and it was super easy to play. I think the kids had a lot of fun with it and I saw them get it back out again later. I think there is a level of learning involved with this too because they are observing how things balance and how a structure becomes weaker. The material is durable and seems to be good quality. I appreciate the good quality materials in this game because it would be easy to wear it out if it wasn't as thick and sturdy as it is. Great game that is especially good for kids with short attention spans... One they will want to play again and again! Great game and would make a great gift too!

Fun Family Game That Builds Fine Motor Skills and Strategy
This is a very cute and engaging tabletop game for younger kids, especially preschool and early elementary ages. The capybara theme is fun and different, and the balancing gameplay keeps children interested while also encouraging patience and concentration. The game is simple enough for younger children to understand quickly, but still interactive enough to make family game time enjoyable. Kids practice color matching, hand coordination, and basic strategy while trying not to tip the capybara over. The balancing mechanic adds excitement without being overly frustrating, which is important for younger players. It works well for siblings, parent-child play, classrooms, or small group activities. The pieces are colorful, kid-friendly, and sized well for little hands. Cleanup and storage are also easy since everything fits neatly back into the box. This is a nice alternative to screen time and works especially well for family game nights, rainy days, preschool learning centers, or gifts for children ages 4–8. Overall, a creative and entertaining educational game that combines fine motor practice, simple strategy, and family-friendly fun in a very approachable way.

Fun and educational game for family time
I recently tried out the “Snack or Splash” game from Educational Insights, and it’s been a whirlwind of giggles and learning at our kitchen table! This game is designed for kids ages 4 to 8, but with my 4-year-old and 7-year-old both in tow, the family dynamic turned into an epic battle of snack-snatching strategy and splashy mischief. Right off the bat, the colorful game pieces caught the eyes of my little ones, which is always a win. They were practically bouncing off the walls as they eagerly figured out how to play. The idea of matching colors while trying not to get drenched by the splash cards made for some hilarious moments. Think of it as a wet twist on the classic board game concept! And strategy? Ha! If you think a 4-year-old can’t strategize, think again. My youngest quickly turned into a mini mastermind, plotting how to sink his sibling’s chances while snatching those snack tiles. I swear I saw a look of pure concentration on his face that I normally reserve for serious adult games. Even as an adult, I had a blast trying to keep a straight face while they joyfully executed their plans of chaos. The game is surprisingly easy to set up and keeps their attention long enough for me to sneak in a cup of coffee, which is an absolute win in my book! Plus, I think it’s excellent for fine motor skills and color matching, although my kids would argue it’s more about the thrill of victory and the potential to end up splashed, than any real educational benefit. In short, “Snack or Splash” is like a delightful chaos generator that turns snack time into strategy time! Perfect for family game nights when you need a break from the usual stuff, and honestly, who doesn’t love a good splash.

Fun, easy to set up, fast game for young kids
This Snack or Splash game by Educational Insights was very fun for my 6 year old daughter and I to play. The setup is really easy and I appreciated that it’s pretty open ended- after she learned to play, she started to place the fruit stacks both in patterns and strategically. It was interesting to me as a mom to see her mind work out different ways to place them. The game play is very easy to understand and she soaked up the instructions quickly. Playing as a two player game is possible and perfect for families with 2 to 4 members. We were able to go through 6 rounds before dinner and she was very pleased with the game. According to my daughter this game is “very fun.” I like that it encourages patience (when Cora the Capy is taking a nap) and forsight (when choosing which fruit stack to pull) and directly demonstrates cause and effect (pull the wrong stack and Cora will fall). The game is also bright and cheery, and the materials are quality- sturdy and durable.

Appealing and engaging game to help kids open up
Snack or Splash is a very cute and engaging game that works well for encouraging conversation and interaction among children. I have used this in play therapy, and it has been very appealing and easy for kids to engage with. The colorful design and simple structure make it approachable, even for children who may be hesitant to participate at first. The game naturally prompts discussion as children make choices and react to outcomes, which helps support communication skills and social interaction. It creates opportunities for storytelling, sharing thoughts, and expressing feelings in a relaxed and playful way. I found that it helps children open up without feeling pressured, which is especially valuable in a therapeutic setting. The fine motor and color matching elements also add an extra layer of skill building. These features keep children focused and give them a sense of accomplishment as they play. The game balances structure with flexibility, allowing it to be adapted to different settings and needs. The fun game works well for both play and therapeutic use. It supports interaction, creativity, and communication in a way that feels natural and enjoyable for children. I would recommend it for anyone looking for an activity that encourages kids to talk, connect, and engage with others.

Capybara Chaos = Instant Family Favorite!!!
Okay this game is actually SO much fun!!! 🤣 I grabbed this for family game night and didn’t expect it to be such a hit, but we were all laughing the whole time. The whole idea is simple but genius… you’re trying to pull out the colored “fruit” sticks without tipping the capybara (which is harder than it looks 😅). It turns into this hilarious mix of strategy + pure chaos when everything starts wobbling. What I love: 🎯 Super easy to learn (took us like 2 minutes) 🧠 Sneaky learning—color matching + fine motor skills 😂 Gets everyone involved (kids AND adults) ⏱️ Quick rounds so no one gets bored The quality is also really nice… everything feels sturdy and the pieces are bright and easy for little hands to grab. We’ve already played it multiple times and my daughter keeps asking to “do the capybara game again” 😂 so that’s a win. Perfect for: Family game night, younger kids (but still fun for adults), or even as a gift.

FLAWED AS CURRENTLY DESIGNED AND CREATED
This game lacks greatness and awe as currently designed and created. The game has attractive graphics, but a great game is more than eye-appealing graphics. A great game is a game that has well-thought-out instructions for play. The included instructions for playing this game are incomplete and not high quality. I expected better, especially since the game box advertises that the creator of this game is a professional game creator for over 25 years. A great game has great instructions that are clear, concise, and complete. The instructions for this game do not have those qualities. For example: As currently designed, the round spinner game piece has triangle-shaped sections that for some reason do not touch each other. That reason is unknown. As a result, there is a white line between each triangle-shaped section, for which the spinner arrow can land. For players landing in that “white zone” you’ll need to create your own instructions for play. Does the player get to do both? Or lose a turn? Or spin again? Or is it “game over”? And if no color is available to remove, then what? For young children playing on their own and without parental guidance, there is no guidance for how or where to place the colored sticks on the game board. Yet the placement of the colored fruit sticks can greatly influence and determine the difficulty of this game, and consequently cause a lot of frustration and “failure” for young children. Where this game is set-up and played is crucial, as a solid surface is needed. Playing this game on an unsteady or uneven surface (i.e.: shaky card table; carpet; or tiled floor) can adversely affect the game. If the spinner card is used on the same surface as Cora and the stacked fruit, then the movement from spinning the arrow may inadvertently cause Cora to fall. Even when the game is played on a solid surface the base of the game is not solid and secure and moves easily when colored sticks are removed. The game indicates that it is for 2-4 players ~ but the fun factor is greatly diminished when the game is only played with 2 players. As the instructions are currently written, the game is actually for 3 or more players, and not for only 2 players. When playing with only 2 players, the player who dunks Cora into the water loses that round, even if they have the most fruit. Storing the pieces of this game is also problematic. It’s a tight fit to store all the pieces adequately within the box, and even more problematic to do so without causing damage to the round playing boards or spinner card. As currently designed and created, this Cora the Capybara Snack or Splash Game is flawed. However, this game has potential. The game is fun but has limitations as currently designed and created. With some tweaking, this game has the potential to become a 5-star game. As currently designed and created, however, this game falls short and is expensively priced at $24.99 (price point at time of ordering).
