It’s scratchy-ish. More rustic than refined.

Can these be used with soapnuts to do laundry in the washer, and if so, are they durable?

They are made out to flax. But they are very small bags. Yes you can was them.

Can these bags be used to steep tea? Not just store tea.

I don’t think so they are more of a canvas type of bag, maybe to store tea. I used them to make tic tac toe bags for my daughters classmates
