Worked perfect for about a month but I guess it’s not water proof enough for Florida. Screen now shows a distorted wet picture but lens outside is dry. Water must have gotten into the unit. Too bad. Was working so well until it got water logged from the rain. 😢

It's very easy to pop it on the back of the vehicle. License plate mounting location is inferior to my previous CRV's built-in back-up camera which was mounted at the top of the liftgate looking down (you can't see the bumper of your car w this one) but the pic is not bad at all - unless a raindrop is on the sensor (another reason the CRV mounting direction was better). A friend who's a mechanic installed this form me, but I couldn't expect him to run the cabling under the interior upholstery for free, it'd take hours. So for me there's a wire running from my liftgate (hatchback rear door) to the console between front seats where my car's RCA video input is. I get my power via a circuit internal to the liftgate, this product comes w wiring such that you coan get it there OR at the location where you provide the video signal.

The image in the picture shows the trees behind my car. They were all green, but instead show pink on the screen. This happened on 3 of the same product using two different vehicles. They all were defective in this way. One of them outright failed after about 30 minutes of me testing. It got hot at the power/rca split from the camera and then just showed black and white squares all over. The frame itself is sturdy as hell though. If it worked correctly I would have been really happy to have it on the truck. Back it goes.

Easy install on my 2003 Ford Crown Victoria. Works great with my Pioneer head unit. Only complaint. Your instinct is to install camera at the top of the license plate. If you do it covers the name of your state. Police don’t like that. If you turn the frame upside down it doesn’t cover the name but then, you have to turn the camera upside down on the frame to get the picture right side up. (Unless of course your receiver has the ability to rotate the picture.)

Works and doesn't have terrible camera quality, but not being able to remove the lines kind of sucks and the night vision isn't the greatest. Easy to install and wiring is pretty straight forward. Only real reason it gets 3 starts is the lines.

I did cut the camera away from the frame. I don't like to have ANY "trim" around a license plate. The camera is still located at the top of the license plate. I tapped the backup light's power connection to provide power to the camera. This way the camera comes on only in reverse.

very poor picture quality, I have been installing stereos and back ups for years... picture is very blurry and unclear.
