Gloss Klear Kote, 1oz, ALC310

I’m responding to the guy who said this was “awful” because it wasn’t reflective and didn’t last long. He’s right about that, because 1) it’s not a reflective finish, it’s a clear coat and 2) you have to read the directions. Alclad clear is applied at low pressure, around 15 psi and only 1 1/2 or so from the workpiece. Otherwise, yes, you’ll use it up in no time. This is actually an excellent top coat, good leveling, dries quickly with a durable finish and is easy on decals. It’s probably the best clear coat you’ll find for top coating over metallic finishes.

Alclad II Gloss Klear Kote is the real deal. After using other clear lacquers to seal Molotow chrome including Pledge Future, Alclad II Klear Kote was the only one that didn’t dull the chrome and maintained a reflective chrome shine and luster. All other clear lacquers would noticeably dull Molotow making it look like brushed metallic silver. It’s easy to use and no thinning is necessary just pour it into your cup and spray. I will use this exclusively for sealing all of my Molotow chrome projects so I can handle them without tarnishing them from now on.

I use this laquer to cover my acrylic painted scale models before decal application and it works really well. Fasr drying and easy to airbrush and clean up with laquer thinner. Does not craze the base coat at all.

Apply a thin coat over your acrylic paint prior to applying transfer’s and or weathering and you will see noticeable improvement in your results

It does NOT provide a reflective silver finish even when applied over the same company's black primer. And the paint just flies through the airbrush and is gone so fast. Very poor coverage area and an expensive rip-off.

if you, like me, came here from adam savage's tested video clear coats that don't dull chrome, you've come to the right place. this works incredibly well in conjunction with molotow chrome. if you need a clear coat that won't dull chrome and will allow you to handle the finish without damaging it, you've come to the right place
