A very nice bike for people shorter than me
Everyone who has tried this has loved it... as much as their height permitted. The consensus of a few of us was that 5'10" or higher you have to sit pretty far back in the seat while those below that will find it more comfortable. My brother's au pair rode it more than the rest of us combined and found it comfortable and handy enough for getting around town. She would go around town until the battery was empty (up to 30 miles) and then use an Uber XL to get the bike and herself back home (though one could pedal it home, if they preferred). With the bike's powered mode off, you can just pedal it mostly like normal. This can get awkward for the more vertically-endowed among us, though, as longer legs can make pedaling more cumbersome. One does wish the non-traditional seat was somehow adjustable? After turning on the powered mode, the ride has two methods of control: pedals activate the motor in what I like to call an "oomphy" fashion where you get full power all at once, or at least it seems like it. It's not scary as long as you're aware of it. It's actually a lot of fun and my favorite way of controlling the power. The second way to control power is the little twist control on the handlebar. It's more precise and helps maneuver more carefully in tighter spots. My parents have owned (non-e-bike) Schwinns for as long as I can remember and they always spoke of the brand in a way which communicated that they thought it was premium and quality, and worth spending a little extra on and taking care of. Thankfully that still seems to be true, at least with the Hurricane. (You know how it can go with some brands that have changed owners or leadership too many times.) This bike feels solid and more than able to handle the specs it lists for weight and speed.

Really fun
This ebike is our first experience with ebikes so we were not sure what to expect. First off the bike arrived in a fairly large but not huge box. They smartly made the box to slide right out from one end after you pull a tab. The great thing is the bike comes mostly assembled which I imagine saves a huge headache. The only real assembly involved is attaching the top handlebar assembly to the main frame of the bike. It is very straight forward and the instructions were very clear. I believe the only other thing we had to do was screw the pedals on. So in about ten minutes or less you can be riding this bike. That's a great thing because this thing is actually a lot of fun to ride. Based on its size it may be a little more geared towards kids but believe me my wife and I have a blast on this thing and although it is a little small for me at 6' tall it is still fairly comfortable. Now I wouldn't want to be commuting 5 miles to work on this but I really don't think that's what they had in mind although it does claim up to a 30 mile range on a charge. The battery is mounted to the frame under the seat and they include keys to unlock and remove it for security when the bike is parked. So what makes it fun? It has a peppy acceleration and while not blazing fast gets going pretty good so you can cruise around. As someone who lives in a subdivision it is perfectly suited for getting around those kind of low traffic streets. Just as important it stops well too with front and rear disc brakes. You can accelerate by twisting a small section of the handlebar grip or by just pedaling and the assist will immediately kick in and start boosting you which is actually the more fun way in our opinion. It includes a battery status gauge on the handlebars, a front headlight and a rear brake light. This bike is the great quality you'd expect from a name brand manufacturer like Schwinn. I think it is perfectly suited to older kids and teens but honestly it is fun for all ages.

Fun little neighborhood ride (bring a duster)
Got this as my first ebike and setup was simple. I attached the pedals in a couple minutes and saw almost everything else comes preassembled. The only issue was a stripped head on one of the handlebar screws (made it really tough to torque down when I tried securing the bars). I charged it up for several hours first just to complete a full battery cycle. Took it out on some paved roads after my 8-year-old finished her gymnastics class. The frame feels sturdy when riding with her sitting in front of me (our combined weight's over 200lbs) and the ride's pretty smooth. It doesn't have any gears to shift. The hand throttle kicks in without needing a kickstart and gives a steady acceleration from the 400W peak motor. It won't break any speed records and there's no speedometer to check the exact mph, but I can tell the top speeds are on the lower end. The mechanical disc brake levers are easy to press and stop the bike fast. I couldn't find a switch for the headlight so I just assume it stays on all the time. The only display is a basic battery gauge. I also noticed the glossy finish on the frame acts like a magnet for dust and dirt. Being 5'10, I have to sit pretty far back on the large seat because the bike's fairly compact. My wife's 5'4 and 100lbs and she rides it without any problems at all. It comes with 3 physical copies for the battery lock to secure it in place or pull it out to charge indoors. The stated 30 mile range only applies to pedal assist mode so I doubt it gets anywhere near that on purely throttle power. It feels a bit heavy for its size. I'm happy with it for local trips but the asking price's a little steep given the basic tech onboard.

Schwinn Hurricane eBike – Compact, Stylish, and Surprisingly Fun
The Schwinn Hurricane eBike is a compact electric bike that delivers a fun riding experience while still feeling sturdy and well-designed. Out of the box, the bike was packaged well and assembly was fairly straightforward with basic tools. Most of the work involves attaching the handlebars and pedals, and it can be ready to ride in a short amount of time. The 250W motor provides smooth acceleration, and the throttle and pedal-assist options make it easy to ride depending on how much effort you want to put in. The bike reaches speeds around the advertised range and feels responsive without being overwhelming, which makes it approachable for new e-bike riders. One of the highlights is the design. The moto-inspired frame and wide tires give the Hurricane a distinctive look compared to traditional bicycles. The tires also help with stability, especially when riding on pavement or light gravel. The disc brakes stop reliably, and the included lights are a nice touch for visibility. Battery performance appears to be consistent with expectations for this category of e-bike. Range will vary depending on rider weight, terrain, and how much throttle vs pedal assist is used, but it is suitable for neighborhood rides, casual cruising, and short commutes. Overall, the Schwinn Hurricane eBike strikes a good balance between style, performance, and accessibility. It’s particularly well suited for riders who want a smaller, easy-to-handle electric bike for recreational use rather than long-distance riding. Pros • Unique, stylish frame design • Smooth motor assistance • Stable wide tires • Straightforward assembly Cons • Compact size may not suit very tall riders • Smaller wheels are better for pavement than rough trails Overall: A fun and approachable e-bike with a distinctive look that works well for casual riding and short trips.

Sleek look, smooth ride and lots of fun
The Schwinn Hurricane eBike has a sleek, modern design complete with mag wheels and a matte black finish. The setup right out of the box only took around 10 minutes and consisted of attaching the handlebars and pedals. We plugged it into the charger and, once fully charged, took it out for a spin. I was initially concerned that the bike would be too small for my frame. I’m 5’8” with long legs and my son is 6’3” with long legs as well. When we first put the bike together, I thought for sure I’d have to send it back. Due to the length of the seat and the adjustability of the handlebars, we are both able to ride relatively comfortably. The small, wide wheels work great on pavement. The ride can be a bit bumpy on gravel or on uneven dirt trails. The 250-watt motor provides a fun and fast ride up to 17mph with pedal assist. Accelerating is a breeze with the throttle and optional pedal assist and the disc brakes are smooth and reliable. There’s so much to love about this bike! Here are some of my favorite features: -Sleek, modern look. I love the black with orange, red, and blue accents. -Compact design for easy storage and transport. We transport the bike to a nearby park to ride the trails. -Bright, automatic LED lights -Adjustable handlebars. This really helps accommodate for our height. -30-mile battery capacity one one charge -Long, non-traditional bike seat -Fenders for splash protection There really are no negatives. Given the reasonable price, a brand I know and trust, the high-end materials and smooth ride, this bike is a winner.

I love it!
I really like the eBike. It was relatively easy to put together, because the bulk of the work was done! All the hardware needed was in the box, except a smaller allen wrench to adjust the placement of the hand breaks. The little bike is nice and the seat cushion has a great sitting base and is wide enough to be very comfortable. We had a small issue with the battery not staying in place and I forgot that the key has to lock/unlock the space for the battery to slide into place. Once we figured that out, we were golden! The kickstand is really easy to deploy and bring back up with a little foot action. The pick up/speed of the bike is good. I got this for my grandsons 15th birthday. He said it was OK - I say it is great. The bike has pretty good instructions and a learners manual for my grandson! He tried to ask me a question about the bike and I pointed to his manual, lol. And it looks good. But all-in-all it is a good, sturdy bike for the price, and the quality is great. Schwinn has had good products over time and I'm glad to see they are still in the quality business! I will recommend

Awesome Compact E-Bike – Fast, Fun, and Surprisingly Powerful!
I couldn’t be happier with the Schwinn Hurricane electric bike. From the moment I took it out of the box, it was clear this bike was designed for both style and performance. The easy to assemble and very clear instructions made setting it up to ride a breeze in less than 10 minutes! The moto-inspired frame and mag wheels give it a sleek, aggressive look that gets attention everywhere I ride. It feels sturdy and well-built, yet the compact 14-inch wheel design makes it easy to maneuver and store. The 250-watt motor delivers smooth, reliable power and gets the bike moving quickly. The twist throttle makes acceleration effortless—just twist and go. When I feel like pedaling, the pedal assist feature kicks in seamlessly and makes longer rides incredibly comfortable. Hitting speeds up to 17.5 mph feels fast but still very controlled. One of my favorite features is the battery range. I’ve been able to ride close to 30 miles on a single charge using pedal assist, which is impressive for a bike this compact. Recharging is simple with the included charger, and the battery level display on the throttle makes it easy to keep track of how much power I have left. The ride quality is also great thanks to the wide tires, which handle pavement and light gravel with no problem. The front and rear mechanical disc brakes provide strong, reliable stopping power, giving me confidence even at higher speeds. I also really appreciate the built-in fenders that keep road spray off me and the automatic LED lights, which add visibility and safety when riding in the evening. Overall, the Schwinn Hurricane is an amazing electric bike for anyone looking for something fun, compact, and powerful. It’s perfect for commuting, cruising around the neighborhood, or just enjoying a fast and smooth ride. If you want a stylish e-bike that delivers great performance and convenience, this one is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended! SIDE NOTE!! The bike does NOT need the key in order to operate, the key is only to lock and unlock the battery under the seat to easily remove it if needed.
