S2 Electric Scooter - 8.5" Solid Tires - Up to 17 Miles Long-Range

Been riding this Hiboy S2 as my Daily Driver commute to Work. About 4miles Roundtrip at Sport Mode & i still have about 54% Battery from a full Charge. Reaching Top Speed of 19Mph is Easily achieved weighing at 180lbs myself including my laptop & u locks Etc you could say around 190lbs & it has not affected me to get to top Speed. Brakes works well too Disc brake on the Right Lever is almost instant so be Careful not to brake Hard. Drum brakes on the left thumb throttle is more relaxed but if you need to stop immediately right lever is the one or you could combine both just try to pump it not Slam both or you'd end up ahead of your scooter. This Scooter Has reached my Expectations Build Quality is Solid the Lights are a Nice Touch i always get Compliments from it. Also ShoutOut to CiCi from Support! Helped me fixed my Concern almost immediately without Hesitation. It is True that Hiboy Support is Really Good. I can Vouch for this myself.

3rd update: 14 months after purchase. I had an accident with this scooter and the throttle broke. I contacted the manufacturer to see if I could get a replacement and they offered to send me both the throttle and the broke. Phone holder, free of charge. Great customer service! 2nd update 4 months after purchase: I have to revise my review of this company once again. They are TOP in customer satisfaction, response, problem solving and inquiries. The scooter rides great, looks great and has a long battery life. Maybe in future they will reconsider the closure hook and use a better design there. They seem to be really focussed on their product and their customers so I believe they will continue improving over time. UPDATE: The company "HiBoy" has been very open and eager to resolve our issues (below) and very supportive. For that reason I am happy to change my overall rating to 4 Stars (****) increased from 3. This is a lovely scooter. Stylish, easy to use, solid tires (no flats!), disk brake, great lights, fast. However there are two extremely important design drawbacks: UPDATE: Point 1 below is more of a dumb design but Point 2 below remains an important drawback. 1. The body of the scooter does not have any place where a lock can be passed through to securely lock the scooter outside if necessary. UPDATE: After some research apparently it is possible to lock the scooter around the body just behind the front wheel (on the angled part). Provided that the lock is tight enough to the body that the scooter body or stem/headset can't be passed through the lock and removed, it is pretty secure. We have not tried this yet. and….relating to the above and to the idea that there is no way to lock it up outside…. 2. When we fold the scooter and clip the top to the rear fender, the “clip” in fact is an open hook which catches a spring action loop built into the rear fender. As long as you keep tension on that hook (ie by holding the scooter from that portion), the loop stays in the hook. As soon as the stem of the scooter relaxes toward the body, the hook falls out of the loop and the scooter opens up (“flops” open). Given that the scooter is about 30lbs, it is reasonable that a normal person would occasionally “rest” the folded scooter while carrying it. But if s/he does, the scooter will awkwardly fall open and potentially cause damage or physical injury. So where we ourselves really wanted to have a scooter that folded up for ease of transportation, it’s not well designed for that at all. I anticipate our finding another way of securing the fold, perhaps by installing a rock-climbing clip somehow, so that the stem can be held securely attached to the body when folded. UPDATE: We did find a way to secure the fold. Our "solution" is not very functional and it's ugly as well. We are going to try locking as updated in Point 1 above, which will hopefully solve the problem.

All the positive reviews here helped sway us to buy the S2 when it was an Amazon deal of the day. Teenage son had been saving for months to buy a scooter was initially very happy with this. However, in retrospect we *really* wish we had paid the extra $30 for the extended 2-year warranty. The initial wheel rattle that we ignored got progressively louder, but by the time we wondered whether to return the scooter, the 1-month return window had closed. After dozens of interactions with the Amazon Marketplace seller (sharing videos with the rattle, etc), they mailed us a new wheel under the manufacturer’s limited warranty. However, we had no easy way to install it. No local bike or scooter repair shop wanted the liability (because it is an off-brand made in China). So in the process of replacing that (trying to follow a video link that Hiboy sent us), the back brake stopped working, but that is arguably our fault, so we have no recourse. And now the newest issue is that the throttle got stuck in the on position, leading to injuries. But even if we can repair that, I don’t trust this to be safe any more. In addition, the front tire wore out unexpectedly fast (just riding a paved bike trail about 15 minutes about twice a week), but replacing that is $80. In summary, I hardly ever leave reviews on Amazon, but felt compelled to warn others to think twice (don’t just look at initial reviews) and if you do decide to get this, please purchase the extended warranty because we definitely feel like we are stuck with a lemon and profoundly regret buying this scooter. Teenager who saved for months to buy this is especially bitter and sad about our mistake.

Great, but after a few rides down hill, my breaks have gotten pretty shot. They work, it’s just a bit more unsafe, and doesn’t stop all the way sometimes. It was easy to set-up and use, the app wasn’t the most useful for me, which made it feel much more secondary, which is great bc I don't really wan to be forced on an app while riding. I think the speed gets limited by the mode, which I didn’t see much of a difference with. Overall, I've had it for over a year or so, and it’s pretty stable. Overall, the stability, durability, braking, ride quality, assembly, and speed are all great.

Owned for 1 day so far. The build quality seems relatively decent compared to my kids cheap Razor scooters. The tires on this I feel were the better choice. I can't imagine getting a flat tire on my way to work, so the solid rubber tires are a thumbs up. Expect battery life to be less than advertised, especially if you stop and go a lot, have multiple inclines, and run in sport mode. My first ride to work, 6.1 miles, at least a mile of minor incline and 1 short steeper incline and I have 59% battery remaining. I did run half of the route in sport mode and the rest in regular. So doing the math, I could expect just over 14 miles from one charge. My weight including my back pack, is about 185. My hopes were that I could make a round trip to work on 1 charge, which I can see happening. The weak point on this scooter is probably going to be the neck where it's attached near the front lock mechanism, so putting to much stress on this may shorten its life. Keep your weight to the back, to reduce stress on the neck. One thing that kind of stinks I paid $549 for this, and when I received it, Amazon dropped the price, so I feel like I got a little ripped off. I will update this review after I've put on more miles. *8/16/22 update. So I am currently around 150 miles onto this scooter. The battery consumotion has been consistent throughout its use. I have noticed, if you encounter some wind, it will slow you down a tad and reduce your battery usage as well. So far my only concern is the front tire which has noticeable wear. I work at a factory in a QA department, so I will measure the front tire to back tire and compare the size, as they were the same size at the beginning. I uploaded a screen capture of my normal trek to work (google fit app). The scooter handles the ride in very well, and hope it continues. *9/14/22 update So after many rides to work, I had worn the front tire down enough to be noticeable. I reached out to customer service with the full details, they explained to me that driving style can negatively affect tire life. I probably had been riding it to hard and didn't argue the point. Even though it was probably my fault, they sent me a brand new tire and motor! It took me about 15-20 minutes to replace, but I do have a mechanical background, so it was easy for me. I have to say, the customer service has been very responsive, and the scooter a blast! Thanks again HIBOY!

It goes really fast, has great lights and lots of features. The solid tires make the ride a bit bumpy on rough ground. You get rattled a bit and your teeth chatter. The brakes are a bit too good, they are very sensitive and slam on the anchor as soon as you touch them. It has two types of break and both are very strong and responsive. It’s relatively light weight compared to other scooters I’ve ridden. The App is really good (although you don’t need it at all). I often use the cruise control feature. It has sports mode which is really fast. We get really good distance and battery life. It recharges in a few hours. Great value and has given us hours and hours of fun.

Hiboy scooter is well-built and reliable. Comfortable ride with responsive brakes and solid performance. Easy to fold and carry. Really happy with this purchase!
