Works great
I thought it would be a little bigger but it’s still nice. Bought it as a Christmas gift for my mother in law and she loves it.

Works well but some minor rusting
Slightly smaller than expected but the bowl of the colander remains galvanized. Only the connection where the handle meets the bowl part has rusted, the reason for the loss of a star. Other than that, great quality and works well!

Lightweight but sturdy, perfect size
This metal colander is exactly what I was looking for to replace the old plastic one we’ve been using. I’ve been making the effort to replace all plastic in my kitchen, especially items that come in contact with hot food. This colander is lightweight, yet the construction feels sturdy. Cleaning was a breeze as long as I rinsed it immediately after use. I can see how dried up pasta could become difficult to remove from all the small holes. I let it air dry and it seems fine; no signs of rust or corrosion. I find the bowl size is perfect for a single 1# box of pasta. No risk of overflow and I love the smaller holes, great for thin spaghetti which often slips through larger holes. I can see the potential for several other uses as well. Lined with cheesecloth, this bowl would be great for straining soft cheeses like cottage cheese or ricotta and yogurts. The large capacity gives plenty of room for rinsing fruits and vegetables. The handles seem sturdy, but I do fear that the soldering could break off in the future since the handles are only attached to the outside and not through the bowl with a rivet or screw. The colander would still function as intended without the handles, so I’m not too worried. I really like the ring on the bottom that acts as feet for the bowl. It’s large enough to go around a drain in your kitchen sink making it very stable. A problem I had with my plastic one was that the feet were centered in an X shape and when I poured boiling pasta into it the whole thing would lose balance and topple over. No such problem with this one. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great colander!
I've been wanting a colander like this for a while, my usual one is one of those rectangular types with the extending handles that fits on a sink, and it's a bit too big and unwieldy for a lot of my uses. This colander is much better for draining a box of macaroni, for rinsing fruits, veggies, or beans, and for general kitchen use and it's easier to handle and clean than my large sink strainer. This colander has a mild magnetic attraction, so I'm reasonably certain that it's indeed 304 steel that's been cold worked. One of the last colanders similar to this style that I tried out was not magnetic at all and it was very easy to bend, I'm pretty sure it was aluminum claiming to be steel. I'm much happier with using steel, I need the durability for my frequency of use and prefer it for longevity. This colander is great for rinsing beans, pastas, and fruits, and the handles are easy to grip. The micro-perforations drain quickly and very well, and don't allow most foods to pass through. This colander is easy to clean by hand, and it ran through a cycle in my countertop dishwasher just fine. This colander is easy to hang on a wall by a handle for storage, since my cabinet space is at an extreme premium. This colander feels lightweight yet sturdy, is capable of handling every task I've used it for, and I'm satisfied with its quality and performance.

Perfect for a bachelor
I've been thinking about getting a new colander for a while now. Being a bachelor, I don't cook much or in large quantities so a full size or expensive colander isn't really necessary. I've had 2 colanders before this one and they both had their issues. 1 was too big but the holes were spaced oddly so that it didn't drain fast (which it really needed since there was basically no feet), and then a collapsible one with better holes but was a pain to clean. This one has been the Goldilocks version I've been looking for is small but has good depth so it didn't take up much space in my cabinet but can handle a box of pasta easily. The holes are large enough that water moves freely but not so large to keep everything inside. To be honest, it kind of feels like an industrial window screen. The holes are smooth so cleaning is easy (talking about starch buildup) and it has a stand built in that should be plenty high to not have whatever you're cooking bath itself again. I'm finally happy with my colander
