Excellent Set
Very good set. Excellent starter kit with great value. This kit includes more than enough components to get started and experiment with a wide range of projects. Everything works as expected, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow, even for beginners. The quality of the parts is solid, and the price is very reasonable for what you get. Overall, it’s a great value for money and a perfect choice for anyone learning or practicing Arduino projects.

Good product, learning curve
Its a lil bit of headache and a Lil bit of a learning curve. Especially because its its a clone of an arduino board. So you have to learn how to match arduino program with the clone for example "elegoo uno board = arduino uno board".Lil things you have to test out, but it's a cool Lil board to learn computer programming and making cool stuff. But if your a beginner. I advise to get the book by Simon monk " programming arduino, getting started with sketches ", this book teaches you the basics and language of computer c++ programming. And also gives you Lil task to accomplish and when you feel comfortable you can make Lil changes. And your world will open up. And each mistake is an accomplishment waiting to be learned. And I also had a problem with downloading the sketches from the files for the reason that i have windows11, so my problem was that when i went to downloadthe sketch. The media player would open. But the sketches are not media its an inf file. So when you click on the file the mediaplayer will open and on the side of the screen there will be a section where it would say properties. You have to change the mediaplayer into a drive that could read files. Because the mediaplayer is trying to read the file as if was a video......"word of advice! Make a copy of the files don't rely on just one. Just in case you mess up on 1 file you can go back and see what you have to correct ".

Better than most starter kits
What a great starter kit! It is really worth the cost. Our STEM Club will enjoy learning with all the sensors and motors in the kit. First project is a sensor packed smart bedroom.

Good kit, but maybe not for kids
Came as advertised, all the pieces were intact and well organized in a divided tray type package. There was a listing on the inside of the package that identified each item but not where each item was in the package, the pictures were good enough that you could identify each item. The CD had the required libraries for the projects but the instructions were not the best, but I have more fun figuring stuff out myself rather than following detailed directions. I have many years in electronics and some programming experience but this is my first experience with the Arduino micro-controller and I am impressed. This is a "clone" Arduino and not a "true" Arduino from the designer, but since the Arduino is advertised as "open source" I wasn't too concerned about that. I don't think this is the kit for someone young or with no electronics background but with some internet research you can do a lot of cool stuff with this kit. The breadboard is not the highest quality, but that may be the sign of the way things are now, I have a 20 year old breadboard that is a lot better, but reading reviews it appears the quality of all breadboard has declined. I would suggest this to anyone with some electronics background that is willing to do some research and experimentation. You will need a computer or laptop to program the Arduino, this kit does not teach C++ programming, but there are lots of tutorials online to help once you want to go beyond the "projects" that are included. If you get this invest in a book to help with the programming or spend lots of time online.

FUN FOR THE BRAIN
Lotta good stuff to mess with! I’m 80 so I’m not smart about it but I like to “mess” with it to see what I can do. (Ain’t gonna go in no “home” until my last brain cell is gone.) And, domestically, it pretty much keeps me out of trouble, too. Woulda liked a few more written instructions with the kit. But, probably, that’s just me. (The 80-year old thing, remember?) But Amazon to the rescue. There’s some good written instructional offerings available. Okay, if you see an 80 year old waving an Oregon State Beaver flag on the moon, you’ll know I wrote the program to put me in the correct orbit!

Amazing Value and a Ton of Fun!
I was looking for an Arduino clone starter kit and considered many options. I’m an Electrical Engineer with 15+ years experience designing, manufacturing and testing space flight electrical hardware for satellites. I have a very high standard for quality and was hesitant to purchase this kit due to its low price and my fears that it would be total junk. However, I figured the price was so darn low that even if it turned out to be junk, it wouldn’t be a huge waste. Wow, am I glad I bought this! First, the set arrives in a very useful organizer. I found this to be a really nice feature and helps save time when searching for parts to build each different project. Upon initial inspection, the quality of each component appeared very acceptable. Definitely low-quality parts — as you’d rightfully expect at this price point — but certainly no where near “junk” quality. By low-quality, I’m referring to mostly the solder quality, but also the individual piece-parts used in the assemblies are your standard Chinese low-grade parts. Some soldered parts were installed misaligned and some PCB assemblies still had visible contamination on them from inadequate washing. Again, this is all to be expected at this price point and so far, I was very pleased. The real test is if everything worked... I completed all the tutorials and found the instructions very easy to follow. A CD is included in the kit, which supposedly contains all the required software, tutorials and datasheets. My laptop doesn’t have a CD ROM drive so I downloaded everything on the Elegoo website. That’s probably the best option anyway — that way, you know you are using the latest versions of everything. The datasheets were a nice-to-have, although some of them were not as detailed as they should be. Still useful nonetheless. The tutorial manual was clearly written — it’s definitely not poorly translated Chinese-to-English like I expected. It’s entirely written in clear English. In some places, I wish it did a better job explaining the code and syntax, but honestly, that’s something Google can handle. Every tutorial was completed easily and I discovered only one technical mistake: the tutorial on DC motor control omitted a ground jumper between the Arduino board and the breadboard/motor controller board. Consequently, the control signal logic levels were not correctly referenced to the same ground potential on both boards. The motor did not respond correctly at first but some quick troubleshooting lead me to add the ground connection and everything worked flawlessly after that. I’ve tested every component in the kit now and everything works as intended. I’m a little bit surprised at this but very, VERY happy. This kit has been a ton of fun to play with. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to get started with Arduinos. It has so many different cool components that this will keep you entertained and get your creative juices flowing. I highly recommend it!

More than what I expected, Inexpensive, Very Very Educational.
This kit is a GREAT and inexpensive alternative to buying an expensive arduino kit. Any one who is interested in learning about micro controllers and how they work should get this kit.The product comes with a CD which has PDF lessons, libraries and code. There are some issues with the PDF tutorials. I just don't want beginners to get discouraged if the programs are not working properly. If you have a problem, go online, and find a solution pretending what you got in your hand is a Arduino Uno, not a Elegoo Uno. The programs, code, projects are all similar. It always worked for me. I have found some issues with lesson 32, and would like to give people some feedback. Lesson 32 Issues: There is a arduino file named "With_Remote" in the Lesson 32 folder. When the comments on the code say // Rotate CW it really means Rotate Counter Clockwise. When the comments on the code say // Rotate CCW it really means Rotate Clockwise. Also, in order for the project to work the way it is supposed to, you will need to push the "VOL+" and "VOL-" buttons on the remote control. (There are no UP and DOWN buttons on the remote control , as mentioned in the code comments.) Lastly, if you are getting a "'TKD2' was not declared" compiler error ( you will know what i mean when you see it ) , you will need to go to C Drive > x86 > Arduino > libraries > RobotIRremote > src. After clicking on the folder named src you will see 2 files named IRremoteTools.cpp and IRremoteTools.h. Cut these 2 files and paste them somewhere else ( on your desktop for example). These files conflict with other files in the Arduino library and dont let Lesson 32 work the way it is meant to work. Just dont delete them permanently!! You might need them later. I will post more updates on the kit as time passes.

I've really enjoyed this kit!
This was a nice starter kit- I was leary to go with anything but the official arduino kit, but that one was $65, and this one was on sale for $43. Plus this one came with more sensors, an AC power adaptor, and a nice plastic multi compartment box for storing everything. The arduino clone board works perfectly, and worked with the Arduino IDE without needing drivers on my mac. (note: you do have to select the port in the IDE) I've not used everything in the kit yet but there was enough to get me going. If I had one complaint, it would be that the PIR sensor module seemed unusable - the pins aren't labeled, and I couldn't get it to accurately sense motion. If you're building a motion sensing project, I can highly recommend the $13 parallax PIR module. Overall this was a great starter kit and I suspect I'll be buying more Elegoo products. SPECIAL NOTE: This is a 'clone' of the Arduino Uno Rev3 - that's legally ok, since Arduino stuff is all open source and free to copy. HOWEVER - The Arduino organization is responsible for the design of this and future boards, and also of the software used to program it. When you buy an "official" Arduino product, you're helping to fund further development of the platform. Since I bought this 'clone' board, I donated to the official project (It's easy to do this, they ask you when you go to download the software) I feel this is a win-win - I got a great starter kit at a great price, but still helped the official organization that creates the reference design and IDE. Please consider doing the same!
