2018 Revised Edition Since shortly after its original release in 2008, Olympic Weightlifting: A Complete Guide for Athletes & Coaches has been the most popular book on the sport of weightlifting in the world and has become the standard text for learning and teaching the snatch and clean & jerk. This all new third edition has been expanded over 150 pages with revised and improved chapters, new chapters, improved organization, more tables and diagrams, over 600 photographs, improved readability, and improved reference functionality with an index, glossary and expanded table of contents. The book presents a complete progression for athletes and coaches starting with foundational elements such as breath control and trunk stabilization, squatting, balance and weight distribution, warming-up, individual variation; working to complete learning and teaching progressions for the snatch, clean and jerk; covering training program design extensively, including assessment for recruiting and new lifters, and 16 sample training programs; technical error correction, supplemental exercises, nutrition, bodyweight manipulation, and mobility; and a thorough section on competition to prepare both lifters and coaches. THE must own Oly WL book
Originally ordered the Second Edition, which was awesome, then found out the 3rd Edition came out a month later. So thanks to Amazon for accepting my 2nd and flipping me the 3rd. The book is a huge upgrade in terms of photos from the 2nd edition. I actually emailed Catalyst Athletics to get a breakdown of the changes and immediatley knew it was worth the exchange. The amount of knowledge and usefulness of this resource is second to none. I have read the whole book multiple times and find myself going back to it after training sessions for corrections or tips. Pairing this with the Catalyst Athletics website pretty much gives you as much up-to-date information as you can fit in your head. Highly recommend this book for any level of lifter.

The Complete guide is truly, the complete guide
This book is an all encompassing guide to the Olympic weight lifting movements and additional training movements required to excel in the sport. From start to finish it teaches you the basics of each movement, as well as why we do the movements to the advance cues and adjustments needed to move 120kG above your head in one clean efficient movement. It is not another "gym" book that will give you a 3 week get shredded guide, nor with it sugar coat the requirements and expectations of this sport. Greg will give it all to you, he is not afraid to share any information/lessons/tricks/tips/habits - Everything. No other book like this exists, certainly not of this caliber. The beauty and obsession of this sport is that you never feel complete. You never feel like you have it. This book is written by someone who loves the sport and loves to teach. If you are hesitating, stop, and buy this book.
