Thermalright Silver Arrow IB-E Extreme

This heat sink is awesome. It's offset so the PCI slot closest to the socket is actually usable (common problem with gigabyte boards and big air coolers). It also handles my 4930k with a mild overclock quite well (<60 degrees at 4.2 GHz in prime95). It uses two 140mm fans, and the 2nd fan interferes with the ram slots on my motherboard. I wish the outside fan was a 120mm like the NH-D14 for this reason.

the 'manual' tiny sheet doesn't say which spacers to use, so you'll have to play with them on your board. 3570k @ 4.4, peaks at 60c

i bought this heatsink and is very very good fx-4300 5.0ghz 1.58 vcore and the temperature about 65* grades. but the installation is very bad and is big, you need case full tower.

I paid a little more than I want to. I'll have to remove the motherboard to install it. I haven't installed it yet. Maybe I'll post an update later.

4.2Ghz overclocking on a Intel Core i7 4770K for almost 1.5 years nary one issue at all, highly recommend.

My 9700k at 4.8ghz allcore hit 73c peak durring the cpu stress test in intel xtu. In games it stays much cooler typically doesn't hit 60c. First tip throw the lga 1151 adapter in the trash. It felt like i was going to break the mounting area for my cpu because the damn latch would not close with it on. After a quick search I found that it should be thrown in the trash. It's BIG. I recommend installing it without the fans until you finish putting the motherboard in your case and connecting everything. Otherwise it might be impossible to get the top center atx mounting screw in place. And other connectors may be blocked as well. All in all it makes the build take a bit longer but it was worth it. If the cpu fan turns all the way to 100% it will be loud like someone is using the vacuum in the other room. But it should never ever get there. The fans barely need to be on 30% to keep your cpu cool. At this speed they are silent.

It is just so big, be careful when you choosing case for this fan. It didn't fit my first case.

Il prodotto è stato consegnato senza ritardi, arrivato in ottime condizioni. Il dissipatore è davvero efficente e mantiene le promesse. Magari leggermente complicato da assemblare se si è alle prime armi, ma è provvisto di un manuale con spiegazioni dettagliate. Per concludere, lo consiglio, ha soddisfatto le mie aspettative in termini di prestazioni ma anche per la silenziosità comparata all'efficienza.

Auf Grund der Verdienste habe ich nichts Besseres gefunden. Aber das Beste wäre für den HEDT-Prozessor.

Il prodotto è arrivato nei tempi stabiliti e ben inscatolato. Al primo impatto ho creduto, date le abbondanti dimensioni, che fosse impossibile installarlo nel case, pur essendo io dotato di un big-tower. In realtà ciò, ovviamente, non è accaduto. Gli accessori sono molti poiché il kit di montaggio prevede l'installazione su praticamente tutti i processori in circolazione e questo, paradossalmente, è il primo problema dato che il manuale è piccolissimo (in alcuni passaggi ho dovuto usare la lente per vedere) ed è abbastanza complesso individuare la giusta procedura di installazione ed i componenti per il proprio processore. Uno stampato di dimensioni più generose, e magari in italiano, sarebbe stato gradito. Comunque io l'ho installato su un LGA 1151. Il procedimento di installazione prevede il montaggio di una contropiastra sulla parte posteriore della scheda madre (vedi foto) e di un supporto metallico di sostegno della ventola sulla parte anteriore, sulla quale poi viene "spinto" il dissipatore attraverso l'uso di una ulteriore staffa. Il tutto NON particolarmente intuitivo ed assolutamente scomodo. Tanto scomodo che ho preferito montare il tutto con ancora la scheda madre fuori dal case (cosa che consiglio vivamente). Altra difficoltà e l'installazione delle ventole (una tra le due torri ed una esterna) le quali devono essere agganciate con delle molle e non con le classiche barrette filettate. Questa operazione, che si rivela non particolarmente complessa in fase di installazione con scheda madre fuori dal case, risulta invece complicatissima in caso di manutenzione a PC montato. Altro problema, questo però comune a tutti i dissipatori di tipo tower, è l'ingombro. Questo va ben valutato e verificato in quanto è possibile, su alcune schede madri, che l'ingombro arrivi fino a sopra il primo o i primi due banchi ram (vedi foto) che, nel caso, vanno acquistati a basso profilo. Io ho spostato una delle due ventole verso l'esterno del case proprio per lasciare "a vista" gli slot della RAM (vedi foto). Passiamo ora alle prestazioni. Gli 8 heat-pipe per lato e le due generose ventole da 14 cm. assolvono perfettamente al loro lavoro. Le temperature del processore (8770k overclokkato a 5000) sono rimaste sempre al di sotto della soglia critica. Unica vera pecca: QUANDO PARTONO LE VENTOLE (anche non alla massima velocità) IL RUMORE E' VERAMENTE ALTO, unico vero motivo per cui non ho messo le 5 stelle. Sarebbe opportuno fornire delle ventole molto più silenziose, dato anche il costo dell'oggetto che comunque si aggira sui 100 €. Acquistarne delle sostitutive più silenziose porterebbe il costo oltre i 160 €. (quasi come un sistema di raffreddamento ad acqua). Stefano

Fantastic air cooler, running my FX8350 @4400MHz (stock V). A little noisier than I'd prefer under load, but if I cared that much I could take off the overclock :) Downsides are the fan clips are really awkward, centre fan is a *very* tight fit, and there's not much clearance from the (low-profile) RAM on my Sabretooth Rev. 2
