I’m excited to explore Saturn!
Now that Saturn is getting ready to move into Pisces, me stumbling across this book came at the perfect time in my life. I’ve been studying on and off for a while now, recently more on. Personally everything is timing. I knew the author is well known and I will get a lot out of this book. I know this is a more advanced approach, so know that. I’m sure if you’re reading this you already do. I definitely recommend! Quick shipping too.

In-Depth, Psychoanalytical Understanding of Saturn and the "Shadow" Nature
This is one of best books I have read about astrology. It was a mesmerizing read; I could not put it down since I have received it, and that was two weeks' ago. I have read it over and over again, underlining and journaling with the book. I will continue to reference and work with this book for years to come.Liz Greene provides an in-depth, Jungian psychoanalytical understanding of Saturn in each of the houses and signs, as well as Saturn's aspects in the astrological chart. The signs are combined with their corresponding houses (for example, Saturn in the 4th with Saturn in Cancer). Each Saturn position covers about 3-4 pages, focusing on Saturn's esoteric and practical meanings. Greene also includes information about what one's childhood may have been like, as well as their personal perspectives on masculine energy. She discusses ways in which Saturn unfolds the person's unique process of individuation (a Jungian term about how to integrate archetypal energies in a healthy way). The only thing I wish she covered more of was a practical application of how to integrate each Saturn position or aspect. She very briefly covers the task at hand from an esoteric, spiritual level; however, she provides no immediate, concrete steps to do so. Perhaps this is best determined by a qualified therapist trained in behavioral modalities, rather than just psychoanalytics.Luckily, there is no mention of remedies that erroneously understand Saturn as solely a planet of limitation and suffering. Greene goes as deep as possible to give the reader an understanding of what Saturn is trying to accomplish within the person's psyche.Knowing this inner process and choosing to hold Saturn in high regard has, for me, contributed to a greater feeling of self-acceptance and self-confidence. I now see my Saturn position and its many aspects as opportunities for growth and exploration of different aspects of my humanness rather than obstacles I must overcome. I am in my first Saturn return, and reading this book has given me more hope and acceptance of my unique life task and journey. I am also a Vedic astrologer, yoga teacher, Reiki and Ayurvedic practitioner and student of psychology, mysticism and comparative theology. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a deeper, holistic understanding of themselves.A powerful book for anyone who has a fascination with astrology, psychology, spirituality, somatic work or other healing modalities. Even for the average person who is only vaguely aware of their Saturn placement and astrological chart, I would recommend this book. Every Saturn placement can apply to everyone, since we all can gain a greater understanding of self-growth and self-mastery.

VERY General
Very general. Doesn't give the real data on aspects and interactions. Just "if saturn is in first house OR Aries"..."If Saturn aspects X planet" but no in depth description. A waste of 13$ for me because it says the same thing free sites do. I suppose this was good enough for entertainment back 40 years ago when it came out.

This book is a staple for astrologers
This book is a must for astrologers. I haven’t found a more insightful Saturn book yet. Liz Greene is a genius and her words are transformative and enlightening. I understand Saturn on a much deeper level now. This book made me cry as well as my best friend as it was so accurate it slam dunks the Saturn aspects. Worth reading over and over again.

Great resource,
There were a couple of harsh reviews re: this book. Had it not been suggested in y course material I may not have bought it. I am soooo grateful I did. Not wanting to be a cookbook astrologer I’ve really been working on understanding the whole of aspects, signs, modes, elements..... to see the plot line in a chart. Having the ability to go into the dark areas and see the blessing, gift of a lesson I LOVE this book. I’m only on page 12 and have a deeper understanding and appreciation for the beauty of Saturn. Yes there are typos, but seriously when you have your dream car do you throw it out because it has a smudge? And if you do maybe this is just the book for you to help over come those harsh fears??? Just a thought. Thank you Liz Greene

I thought this was a good book for what it is
I'm dabbling in astrology, and due to my own Saturn configurations, I thought this was a good book for what it is. I think it captures the spirit of all that Saturn represents and is a nice little guide map through Saturn, if you will -- breaking his influence down through the by sign, house, element, aspect, and a whole section on synastry. If you're into astrology and actively building a library, I think it adds value to your understanding of the subject. Other than my own personal ideological disagreements with Greene's viewpoints, and a general distaste for modern astrology, I felt I learned a lot and others can too, even if like me, you don't agree/like all of it. Her writing is very dense and smacks of early turn-of-the-century occultists' writings, so if you're familiar with the styles of, say, Dion Fortune or others from the time period, you should be okay. I don't mind it myself, I think people more used to reading pop astrology will have a more difficult time of it unless they're well read, so keep that in mind. I would think it should go without saying that this is not the book for a person who likes to read their daily horoscope in the newspaper and expects it to be that easily readable. You're going to have to, ha ha, bend to Saturn's discipline to appreciate it. ;)

Quite a depressing read!
The detail of Saturn and its presence in the houses (and aspects to the planets) is interesting, but very little - if any - detail is given on how to actually deal effectively with them. On the other hand, now I know that Saturn - Venus aspects are the most popular among those who have committed suicide. Charming.I'd rate the book higher if it was actually helpful. The author might be highly qualified, but this isn't everything.

smart and deep insight on the subject of Saturn
I appreciate a lot the insight this book provides when it comes to Saturn influence in birthcharts. To my opinion, the author's analysis is accurate and provides psychological dept into person's psyhe and also suggest how one might consider to overcome some challenges.I like the language as well as the content of the book and I find it very uselful in my own research of natal charts with relation to Saturn placement.

A Must for Every Astrologer.
For every serious student of not only astrology, but also mythology and Jungian archetypes. Preeminent astrologer Liz Greene writes with authority, insight and style. Her book on Neptune is also excellent.

Saturn uncovered
Not the easiest read, but very insightful. It is on my coffee table, and I am coming back to it every now and then, re-reading the highlighted areas. If you want to make Saturn your best friend - you've got to read this book.

amazing
Liz Greene has always been one of the best authors on astrology I have read, and with this book she does not fail to deliver. Her style of writing is in a class of its own and easy to read. I have read no better book on saturn than this one. She brings the signs alive with her stories....amazing
