Bought this on 18th Dec. 2016. I suspect ...
Bought this on 18th Dec.2016. I suspect its original seal was broken, because it was stitched with thread at top. Description it was claimed this will not disturb water quality. I found some of it dissolves in water within few seconds it makes water change more frequent. This was my fist experience with this product. Looking forward how it effects Japanese Koi fish altogether.

Arrived safety packaged & on time... over Christmas, during a snowstorm. Which was amazing! Although the fish don’t start eating again until spring, so there was really no hurry. The “Hikari Economy” is good pond fish food compared to most other brands but not quite as good as the “Hikari Staple” that I generally buy. Fish will eat “Economy” but they clearly prefer “Hikari Staple”. Might be okay mixed for a budget saver.

I have a 7200 gal pond with over 30 koi ranging in size from 6-20 inches... I go through a LOT of fish food and it gets especially expensive during the warm months (where I live, that's 7 months out of the year). My koi gobble this food up in a fishy frenzy- not a single pellet goes to waste. However, I have noticed a change in fish coloration due to the "economy" formula's lack of the color enhancing ingredient. I only noticed the change in one particular fish though- I have two yellow ogon koi. When given the formula with color enhancement, they are the same shade of bright yellow; after switching to the economy formula, one of them turns a paler shade of yellow (which I actually like as it is very pretty and introduces a new color to the mix). I have not noticed any difference in color in any of the other koi, although I did not take before & after pics. Otherwise, my koi seem healthy and happy. Food floats and does not cloud water. I am satisfied!
