Q: Will this fit 2017 gmc sierra denali 2500 diesel crew cab

I do not know but mine fit a 2012 ram 2500. Each make of truck is configured differently when I was looking for mine. Go to Amp research and look up yours.

Q: What's the difference between the white and black housing

Not sure there is any difference. Just make sure the size, sprocket and 3 bolt attachment configuration matches.

Q: Will this fit 2019 Ram 1500 drivers side?

It depends on the the brand of the power step running board. If the power step is an Amp Research then most likely yes. The best bet is to pull the motor (which is really easy) and compare with the picture. It's a fairly simple design and easy to compare. It needs to have the same number of mounting bolts and the wire harness. Here's a tip. I bought one of these motors (which by the way was easy to install and worked great) to replace the non working unit. I took the old one to a local electrical motor repair shop and for $60 they fixed it, so I now have a spare. Amp Research parts are pretty standard. Whether the part will work for your truck has nothing to do with the brand or model of your truck but everything to do with the brand of powered step board you have. If you have any doubts call Amp Research, they are very helpful folks.
