Great General Purpose Small Brush/Beginner's Brush
These brushes have become my go-to workhorses for my miniatures once my bigger basecoats are down and for dealing with non-acrylic paints/paints that I don't want on the super nice brushes. These brushes have bristles that don't fray easily (with proper maintenance of course), it feels comfortable to use, and it hits a happy in-between of quality and price for me with regards to the jobs I regularly use them for. For these reasons, I can also see them being a sensible beginner's brush.

Great all-rounder
Holds a good amount of paint, and keeps a good point if you look after it well. Good general purpose brush for miniatures.

Doesn't hold a point at all
I've been sampling various highly rated miniature brushes and thought I'd give this a shot. I didn't intend to use it for detail work, just wanted something for basic layers or base coating. The bristles appear to be genuine sable, but they do not hold their point basically at all and the bristles are much too long for what the brush I thought was intended for. The brush also holds a substantial amount of paint, so I don't think it would be good for much else than base coating fairly large models

Absolutely brilliant brushes
The triangle stem makes holding so much more comfortable. That added with with quality bristles make this an excellent brush

I used to rate these, not any more.
I bought the Army Painter "Wargames Mega Brush Set" on a whim last year when my FLGS was out of my preferred brand and Mega Brush Set was on special offer via an Amazon retailer. The brushes in that set really impressed me for the money and I used just the Regiment brush to paint a 150 miniature army. It was a real workhorse of a brush, the head never split and it retained the shape of its tip exceptionally well. As you'd expect, after 150 miniatures the brush was getting a bit long in the tooth so when I was preparing to paint a new army this year I didn't hesitate in ordering two Army Painter Regimental brushes. They arrived in good time and then things started to go wrong when the heads on both brushes split badly after literally 2 or 3 strokes of me gently painting a flat surface on a miniature. In 30+ years of painting miniatures I've never seen a brush do that that quickly, let a lone two of them! Even with good maintenance they fail to retain their shape. It's possible that I've been unlucky and bought a bad batch or that the quality of the brushes has dipped but I do know that I will not be buying any more Army Painter brushes. Shame. :(
