Machine Learning: The New AI

Important to know what the book is and what it is not. It is an excellent survey of the field of machine learning. It is not a "how to do machine learning" book. Anyone who has done or is interested in doing machine learning programing need not look here for instruction. For anyone who is interested in learning the terminology and scope of approaches that comprise machine learning, this book is current, concise, and informative.

For understanding of machine learning even to a common person.

It felt a bit self-indulgent, not clearly written. The content is great and the authors are knowledgeable but this isn’t accessible entry-level information. YouTube videos were much more helpful.

If you are looking for a brief overview of what Machine Learning is all about and a beginners level explanation of a number of the most common algorithms used, then this book is for you; it assisted in me getting a basic understanding of the subject, before I started a Machine Learning module. This book just introduces the discipline, it is not aimed at ML practitioners. A good introduction to a complicated, but essential, subject.
