Eddie Bauer Montlake Backpack

For the price is the best, I like the color and the size.

Nice Eddie Bauer backpack. I got this to use for backpacking. It has a pocket that you can fit a laptop in or you can put a water bladder in it as there is a whole at the top of the bag that the tub can come out of so you can drink from it, which is what I plan on using it for. The back and the shoulder straps are padded adding additional comfort while hiking or walking around campus. There are two side pockets for your water bottle. There are several pockets for your hiking gear, snack and lunch or for your school supplies. For hiking a strap around the hips would be great but as this backpack is more for school or every day use it is not added. Overall, a great backpack and I love the color.

When I initially got his backpack I thought it was too simple and would not work for me. It is a generic every day carry just as described. I used it 3 days straight for an airshow and was pleasantly surprised. Side pockets work perfectly for bottles with elastic bands holding the bottle. The pocket for glasses was cool, although I can see people using it as a fast access pocket mixing the fragile glasses with coins or pens which would be optimal. I would absolutely not carry a laptop on it, but a few notebooks or in my case a collapsible stool fits wonderful. I used it for over 6 hours 3 days straight and was super comfortable. That said this bag is not for heavy items. I would also not use it to carry fragile items or tools for example. The straps on the sides kind of get in the way of the main compartment zipper but it is not bearable. If you carry a few things daily or go on short hikes or something like that, this is the bag. For specialized purposes it is not the bag to use. At $55 considering the brand I think it is worth it.

My wife picked out this backpack in the field gold color, and it really does look sharp—modern but not flashy. She said the color stands out just enough without being too bold, and the overall design is clean and professional. Beyond looks, she’s been impressed with how well thought-out the storage is. The large capacity gives her plenty of space, and the two large zip compartments make it easy to keep everything organized. She uses it for work and travel, and it fits her 15-inch laptop, water bottle, and daily essentials with room to spare. The expandable side pockets are a nice touch, especially when she wants quick access to her phone or a drink. She mentioned that the padded back panel and adjustable sternum strap make it comfortable enough to wear all day, even when fully loaded. The bottom panel gives it a sturdy feel, and the fleece-lined top pocket is perfect for her sunglasses. Overall, she’s really happy with it—it’s stylish, functional, and clearly built to last.

This replaced my wife's more bulky laptop bag (she was just supposed to be borrowing this from me, but she has commandeered it now :) ). It has plenty of room for her laptop, but is still compact and lightweight. The construction is solid, the zippers operate smoothly, and there are plenty of pockets and compartments. She particularly appreciates the buckled straps across the front that allow you to secure it and transfer a bit of the load from your back to the front. Now I just need to get a second one for myself before our next trip :)
