Clever dexterity game themed for kids but fun for adults too!
My favorite dexterity game. Very clever in that the game is designed as a race but the higher level pattern recognition skills you need to win the race often get short circuited by the more visceral reactions and emotions. Game clearly requires skill and players can improve with incremental plays. Can be very fun, and also very intense, though best with players of similar skill levels. Other things I really enjoy about it: 1. Very simple to teach (~1 min), difficult to master, especially in competitive settings 2. Flexible in terms of required time for game play - can go anywhere from a few seconds for just a few cards to hours if people are really into it! 3. Flexible in terms of number of people - you can play with 2 and likely beyond 8 if you can fit everyone in to grab. You can also play in teams or have a free for all. 4. Flexible range of ages - I've played with kids as young as 4 and all the way up to senior citizens. The components are cute and the rules simple, allowing the game to masquerade as a children's game but the gameplay gives it much wider appeal. Great teaching tool for young kids - would also recommend it for educational purposes. 5. Modular design allowing you to adjust difficulty level through introduce advanced rules and additional sets - I have played with all three sets together (Ghost Blitz, Ghost Blitz 2.0, and Ghost Blitz 5 to 12) and all the advanced rules, resulting in a game where you flip a card and stare at 19 objects to try to figure out what to grab or say before your opponent(s)!

any age and those ADHD folks will dominate
We brought this game to the beach. It is very easy to learn, I gave folks ten cards as practice. The kids loved it, and we loved watching the ones that were good at it. I predict you will have one or two people that will be amazingly fast (in our house the ADHD kids dominated. We had to team up three on one to be competitive.) Folks also liked that no one had heard of it, so that always feels good...when you discover something new. Truly a game for any age. Good pub game too as it is so small it fits in a baggy. The components are good quality. I tossed the box it came in, way too big. I keep it in a ziplock.

Quick minded and agile.
It's a quick minded game, the fastest thinker wins the game and is a family fun game.

Fun, Fast Paced Game
I was introduced to this game through a friend and had to immediately buy it. It's easy, fun, and quick to learn. Imagine combining Eye Spy with Slap Jack and you get a fast paced game that's sure to get everyone excited. The artwork and pieces are fun and it's a great game for all.

6/5 Cult Classic Dexterity Game
Probably my favorite game because it's easy to teach, fun to play, and hard to master. This is great for all ages. It really evokes an visceral response; it can get intense and competitive (depending on the players) and almost everyone I show it to loves it. Start with the base rules: pick up the object matched on the card or the one not represented by shape or color before anyone else. When you want more try the rule: if there's a book on the card, say the answer instead of picking it up. If you get it first, you get a card as a point, and the person with the most points at the end wins. This also mixes well with Ghost Blitz 2 expanding to 10 objects and twice as many cards that you can put together for a more challenging game. Plus you can add house rules like if there's a ghost, pick up the object that's the color of the ghost.

Seems simple, makes your brain hurt!
5 items with 5 distinct colors (white ghost, red chair, green bottle, blue book, grey mouse). Flip a card, the card has a picture of two of the items; if the item pictured is the the color of the actual item (say a grey mouse sitting on a blue chair), grab that item (the mouse) as fast as you can. However, if the items pictured both are the wrong color (say a red ghost with a green book), then grab the only item not shown in any way (not a ghost, not red, not a book, and not green - leaves you with grey mouse, quick grab it!) A variation of the rules is every time a card has a book pictured on it, you have to say the answer rather than grab the item! It's easy to learn and fun to play. Points are awarded when you grab or say the correct item, you get the card. If you grab or say the wrong item, or grabbed when you should've said/said when you should've grabbed, you give a card to the deck and it'll get replayed at some point. When all cards are out, the player with the most cards wins. Fun for 2 or more players, can be played with 1, recommended for 8+ years but maybe a smart younger kid could understand it.

it's a cute game good for one or two playthroughs
you wont be coming back to this one very very often... but i am able to pull it out to play in kids classes from time to time we play one card, then we have the "losing" players answer a question then play another card shyer kids can have issues with not being fast enough and end up taking things personally, if you play in the wrong group- even if you are trying to keep things fairly non-competitive we enjoyed it at home, but again - some groups dont do as well with what can be such a directly competitive game /shrug i will say the core game design is sound, it is fun, and the components are all top notch - i'm bumping this review back up to 4 (i shouldn't rate my experiences over the game product itself)

An addictive game to play with children due its simplicity, required skill and attraction. We found it coming very close to Double. But this requires a bit more hand-eye coordination. We as parents and our 10-year old daughter quite enjoyed this game as it can be played in a casual manner and it generally leads to quite some excitement. The set up takes 10 seconds and a game itself requires no more than 10 minutes of play time, but of course multiple rounds can be played. Our 6 year old initially had a little trouble to understand the mechanics. But after taking some time to explain and play it slowly with him he got the hang of it and is now a ‘Geistes’ superstar. I would say that the game has a tendency descent into chaos as players and children in particular will tend to hold hands near the pieces and will try to grab them in their enthusiasm. So some discipline and etiquette is required (in our family all players are required to place their hands flat on the table before a new card is drawn and revealed). I’m still a bit puzzled by the German title of the game, but instructions are included in several languages; there are English instructions as well. So its only the German name on top of the box that is confusing. To get any further you’ll have to relax and train your brain to recognise the pattern/combinations and make a move. It’s not easy, often annoying and some younger players will do surprisingly well. So its actually quite good game and perfect to take along for travel.
