Easily fits in backpack!
First off, this is a great little keyboard. It has the cherry brown switches so it feels like an old-school keyboard for the most part but isn't massively loud. Don't get me wrong, if you use this in a cubicle office environment, your neighbors are going to hear you type. But it's not obnoxiously loud.Second, the fact that the USB cable is detachable is amazing. This makes it so much more portable. Stuffing a keyboard into a bag with an attached cable is questionable at best. You are going to end up putting a lot of stress on the cable where it's attached to the keyboard. That means a shorter life. But since this a detachable USB cable (micro-B I believe on the keyboard side), I can just unplug it and stuff both into my bag.Third, I bought this to use for gaming on my laptop while traveling. It is much better for gaming than the laptop keyboard, but if you have a desktop look somewhere else for a keyboard. It's not that this one is particularly bad, but for the same price you can get a better one that is full-size. To me, the extra price of this keyboard comes from the fact it's small(er) and portable. I can easily fit it inside my backpack along with my laptop and other things. For laptop gaming, it's great for the price. As long as you aren't a 24/7 gamer. If you just play occasionally (in my case once a day over lunch break with my co-workers) then it works great.

Great keyboard for the money!
I wanted a more narrow keyboard that had the full editing keys and no number pad. It seems that all of these types of keyboards are gaming keyboards. Well, I do play a few games, but mostly I am a software engineer and write code everyday. I needed something more narrow that would not make the reach to my mouse so far and lessen the repetitive motion injury on my right side traps and neck muscles. I first tried a Macally keyboard without the full set of editing keys and found that the extra 'FN' key combinations needed for use in the editor that I write code in would not work. I was already doing 3-key commands and it then required 4 keys and they did not work at all (bug in Macally keyboard firmware).Okay, that is the 'why'. Now to talk about this keyboard itself. It is louder than all of my other keyboards, but not too loud. It is not one of those really loud key switches that most of the gaming keyboards have. The first keyboard I received worked for 2 hours and then died. They quickly sent me a replacement and it has worked well. It does not seem to skip any keys when typing fast, etc.Pros:1. Fairly inexpensive.2. Narrower than full size keyboard3. Seems to be a quality keyboard and is well made4. Can type fast with no missed keys or dupes.Cons:1. The printed characters on each key is not that great in my opinion. The main alphabet is fine, but the keys with two functions, such as the 1-0, are not nearly as clear. The font they use is not good IMO.2. The keyboard characters are not printed on the keys, they are kind of a translucent dull white/gray. This is so the backlight can shine through. I would have preferred no backlight and just white characters.3. The only backlight color is blue. I try to reduce blue light anyway, so I am not thrilled about the blue.I'm giving it a rating of 4-stars because of the typing quality and narrowness of the keyboard. Subracting one star for the backlighting and key character font and color.

Very nice value in a keyboard.
This keyboard is awesome! Compact format, very well built with brown switches. Hot keys for different light modes (blue only). You can see in my photo it was very easy to light up only the keys I wanted lit. It takes a micro usb to usb cable. Using it for FPS gaming and RPG’s and so far it’s working well.

A nice keyboard
I really like this keyboard. At first, I felt it did not have enough resistance compared with my keyboard with blue switches, but in the office, where I use this keyboard, it's much more reasonable given the quiet nature of the "brown equivalent" keys. The keyboard design is compact and it feels well built. The blue led lights are a very nice touch because you can configure them to run various patterns. And best of all, I can type very quickly on this keyboard. If this keyboard lasts a couple years at least, I will be very happy with it.

Is truly a "get what you pay for" keyboard.
The keyboard works but the low quality can be felt. If you're used to mechanical keyboards and prefer that feeling while typing then you will hate this thing. I know it's a cheap keyboard but I'm rating it according to its competition in the same price bracket. This thing is reliable but feels like mush under your fingers. There are keyboards on Amazon for about the same price (maybe $10 more) that feel so much better. All in all it's a good backup keyboard but I'd rather not use it again. Find something else if you want a decent cheap keyboard. While gaming it won't always register a key being pressed if you don't press it directly in the middle. For example in a lot of games if you want to run you hold left shift. Well unless left shift is held down in the center it likely won't register it is being pressed. You'll run walk run walk nonstop.

Wonderful keyboard
This was a great purchase. Solid build quality, sturdy keys, great tactile feel without being too loud. The led settings are fun to use as well. Not a whole lot to say other than this is a great keyboard, if you're looking for one in this price range, I would 100% recommend it.

Piece of trash
Got this a month or 2 ago. A few days ago the lights in the keys stopped working other than at the startup. Today letters only work with caps on so its basically a useless paperweight.... Stay away for this kind of $$$

Lights stopped working after a while.
While my son loved this and thought it was the coolest - the lights pooped out on it after just a few months. After reading the directions he still couldn't figure out how to change the light features on it like it aid it could.
