Nikon D300: The Expanded Guide (Expanded Guides)

Every Nikon D300 owner needs this reference.

I recently bought a D300 and wanted to learn how to use all its features to the full extent. This Expanded Guide book has proved to be invaluable as it is well written and clearly illustrated in full color.The way the book is put together, clearly shows how to use the camera'sfunctions using examples of the camera in action. I had previously tried to understand the camera using the supplied instruction manual but ended up totally confused, I also tried other guides but they were so full of generic info they proved no better.The Expanded Guide also has some great features such as the pop-out cheatcards that fit in your bag or wallet. I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone with a D300.

It is equivalent to a glossy Nikon issued D300 User's Manual - with colored example pictures but very little insight as to why one would select or use the camera's many capabilities. If fact, the author doesn't seem interested in giving any detailed text rel the operation, but relies on shooting everything in RAW and then fix the errors with Photoshop. This book is not for the seasoned photographer; a novice would find it slightly more enlightening than the Nikon Manual. I recommend spending the extra bucks and buy David Busch's D300 book.
