great mala sauce
I tried this zero sugar mala sauce and it’s honestly a great option if you like spicy food without the extra sweetness. The flavor has that classic numbing heat from mala, but it’s a bit lighter and less oily than traditional versions. It works really well for stir-fries or dipping, especially with noodles or veggies. If you’re used to richer, more intense mala, this might taste a little toned down, but it’s still satisfying. Overall, it’s a convenient and healthier-feeling alternative that still hits the craving.

Great sugar-free mala sauce
This sugar-free mala sauce definitely delivers on flavor. It has that signature numbing spice from Sichuan peppercorns combined with a rich, savory base, and I didn’t feel like anything was missing without the sugar. The heat level is noticeable but not overwhelming, and it builds nicely as you eat. I’ve used it for hot pot, noodles, and even as a dipping sauce, and it works across the board. If anything, the lack of sweetness makes the spice feel cleaner and more balanced. Great option if you like bold flavors but want to avoid added sugar.

Guilt free mala
As a lover of mala, I’m extremely happy that they made something zero sugar, guilt free. It has the perfect amount of spice to add to your soup base or marinade. The sauce is very versatile so if you enjoy that numbing spice then this is the sauce for you. The bottle does indicate for dipping/stir fry but again the sauce can be used with almost any recipe in my opinion!

Not enough Male flavor
It has male flavor but pretty light and weak. It doesn't numb your tongue like authentic Mala and not spicy. Taste is very similar to Ottogi Cup Noodle Malasoup flavor.

Excellent Mala Sauce
Tried their sauces at a pop up and man was it delicious . Now I can order them here! The mala sauce smells so good when you open it. I add it to my veggies, stir fry noodles, and dipping sauce for meat when I want that extra kick. I would say it’s about a medium spicy level. It comes with two bottles so great value for the price. Easy mala flavor whenever you want.

Hmmm... Convenient and healthier option, but the flavor could be better
I like that this mala sauce is super easy to squeeze and really convenient to use. It’s also a nice option if you’re looking for a “healthier” alternative with no sugar and fewer calories. That being said, the flavor isn’t quite my favorite compared to other mala sauces I’ve tried. It has the mala flavor and you can taste a bit of heat, but it’s missing some of the depth and richness that I usually look for. I’ll still use it when I want a quick and lighter option, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best-tasting mala sauce out there. I'm not sure if I'd make another purhcase.

Must have for mala lovers
This sauce is delicious. It’s not as spicy as Buldak ramen noodles, but it still has a good amount of heat. I like using it to make my own mala-style soup, though it is saltier than the regular mala sauces/pastes I normally use. To bump up the spice, I mix in a little capsaicin, which works perfectly. One unexpected benefit is that it actually helped me lose weight because I kept eating tons of veggies instead of carbs because of this sauce. I sautéed my veggies, tofu, and ground turkey for extra protein with this sauce and topped it with cilantro and crushed peanuts for crunchy texture. This also pairs amazingly well with a dipping sauce I make by mixing peanut butter and sesame oil. I’ve tried it with a spicy yellow mustard and vinegar dipping sauce, and that combo is great too. I was unable to find this sauce in my local asian grocery stores so I am so thankful that Amazon carries it. I hope more VIVID KITCHEN products can become widely available because they are definitely a lifesaver for someone who is always looking for healthier food options without compromising the taste!
