Slightly numbing
Spice level is good for the average spice lover. It also has the numbing effect. The calorie to portion ratio is also very really good as someone who’s counting their calories.

Get it for your healthy malatang!
Love this. Using it to make healthier malatang or malashanguo. Tastes just as good as non-diet friendly mala pastes!

Not enough Male flavor
It has male flavor but pretty light and weak. It doesn't numb your tongue like authentic Mala and not spicy. Taste is very similar to Ottogi Cup Noodle Malasoup flavor.

Will not buy again
I'm a huge fan of this series, but I personally didn't like the Mala flavor. It was too unnatural.

Must have for mala lovers
This sauce is delicious. It’s not as spicy as Buldak ramen noodles, but it still has a good amount of heat. I like using it to make my own mala-style soup, though it is saltier than the regular mala sauces/pastes I normally use. To bump up the spice, I mix in a little capsaicin, which works perfectly. One unexpected benefit is that it actually helped me lose weight because I kept eating tons of veggies instead of carbs because of this sauce. I sautéed my veggies, tofu, and ground turkey for extra protein with this sauce and topped it with cilantro and crushed peanuts for crunchy texture. This also pairs amazingly well with a dipping sauce I make by mixing peanut butter and sesame oil. I’ve tried it with a spicy yellow mustard and vinegar dipping sauce, and that combo is great too. I was unable to find this sauce in my local asian grocery stores so I am so thankful that Amazon carries it. I hope more VIVID KITCHEN products can become widely available because they are definitely a lifesaver for someone who is always looking for healthier food options without compromising the taste!

Pretty Good Sauce
I recently tried the VIVID KITCHEN Mala Sauce, and it was pretty good. The flavor is pretty rich and balanced, mixing the spiciness and numbness. It adds a lot of depth to everything from noodles and stir-fry to hot pot and grilled meats. What I loved most was that the sauce tasted authentic without being overly oily or salty. The aroma is amazing, and even a small amount goes a long way. If you enjoy bold, flavorful food with a satisfying kick, this mala sauce is a must-try. Definitely one of the best ready-made mala sauces I’ve had. Highly recommend!
