Is the metal plated for corrosion resistance? What kind of plating?

It definately has some sort of corrosion protection. Not quite sure if it's a light zinc or what hut thry are not corroding at my house and I live on the water.

Can the 1 1/2 inch screw be replaced by a longer screw?

misleading information about product

The item was advertised as made of stainless steel. This was the reason I bought it. IT IS NOT MADE of SS. Simple tests (magnet, acid HCl) show it is a zinc galvanized steel, and the zinc coat is lousy. I want my money back ! Also, I should be compensated for my lost time.
