No one in my family can taste any difference when I use this in baking. Great taste, no calories.

It's not EXACTLY like the old C&H stuff we're used to from childhood, but it's close. Very close. The flavor profile of this, in my opinion, is BETTER than the brown sugar we grew up on....because it's got a vanilla back note. It's really good on oatmeal, toast, and OMG!!!.......SO GOOD ON SWEET POTATOES! It does not really torch well....as in using a kitchen torch to brulee a crunchy shell onto a dessert. Something in that process, I believe, makes the erythritol come out, and then it has a distinct "coolness" factor when melting on the tongue that is sort of strange. But when used in standard ways as a brown sugar replacement, it does a pretty great job, and I don't have to worry so much about blood sugar spikes for my husband, who is diabetic. (Yet oddly, I use this stuff more than he does!)

The sugar free Swerve Brown Sugar is tasty and bakes just like real brown sugar.

As a seasoned gluten-free home baker, I am always on the lookout for ways to reduce the amount of sugar in my baked goods without compromising on taste. I recently started experimenting with Swerve Ultimate Sugar Replacement Sweetener, specifically the granular and brown sugar varieties, in my cookies and sweet breads. While the brown sugar version didn't quite hit the mark for me, I found the granular variety to be a great substitute for sugar in many recipes. I have even started using Swerve in place of sugar when making fruit spreads from my own peach and plum harvests, and the results have been excellent. I have already found the "how to bake with Swerve" website to be a helpful resource, as it provides tips on how to achieve a crisp cookie texture. Overall, I am very pleased with Swerve Ultimate Sugar Replacement Sweetener and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sugar substitute that doesn't sacrifice taste. The only downside is the price, as the bags could be a little fuller or larger for the amount you get. But despite the cost, I am grateful for the alternative that Swerve provides in my family's diet, especially since I am not a fan of the bitterness of stevia. I hope my review was helpful to you.
