Australia released, NTSC/Region 0 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), ANAMORPHIC WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: 2-DVD Set, Interactive Menu, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: Steven's got a lot on his plate--he and Peridot have to stop the cluster, protect the earth against enemies old and new, and all the residents of Beach City seem to have problems that need Steven's help! There are still things about his family, powers, and the gems that Steven doesn't know. But don't worry, there's still time to sing! This series is set in the fictional Beach City, where ageless alien warriors, the Crystal Gems, live in an ancient beachside temple, protecting the world from evil. They project female humanoid forms from magical gemstones that are the core of their being. The Crystal Gems are Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Steven, a young half-human, half-Gem boy who inherited his gemstone from his mother, the Gems' former leader Rose Quartz. As Steven tries to figure out his powers, he spends his days with his human father Greg, his friend Connie, other people in Beach City, or the other Gems, whether to help them save the world or just to hang out. He explores the abilities passed down to him by his mother, which include fusion (the ability of Gems to merge their identities and bodies to form a new and more powerful personality). ...Steven Universe: Season 3 - 2-DVD Set

Season 2: Welcome to Earth, you clods!
Volume 3 is Season 2.After defeating the Homeworld Gems, Peridot and Jasper, the Gems recover and Steven is at a crossroads. But first, let'st go over the technical details. In a review I wrote for Volume 2, I had noted that"Shirt Club" (s. 1 ep. 47, aired April 16, 2015) and "Story For Steven" (s. 1 ep. 48, aired April 9, 2015), were moved to season 2/Volume 3. "Story For Steven" had been paired after the non-canon "Say Uncle" (s. 2 ep. 3. aired April 2, 2015) in Episode 1 while "Shirt Club" was paired with "Love Letters" (s. 2 ep 4, aired April 23, 2015) in Episode 2."Full Disclosure" (s. 2 ep. 1, aired March 13, 2015 ) and "Joy Ride" (s 2. ep 2, aired March 26, 2015) were moved into Volume 2 with the Season 1B episodes. Also moved around, "Reformed" (s. 2, ep. 5, aired April 30, 2015) was pushed back to just before "Chille Tid" (s. 2, ep. 10, aired June 19, 2015) to Episode 5, pairing "Sworn to the Sword" (s.2 ep. 6, aired June 15, 2015) and "Rising Tides, Crashing Skies" (s.2. ep. 7, aired June 16, 2015) to Episode 3 and "Keeping It Together" (s.2. ep.8, aired June 17, 2015) and "We Need To Talk" (s.2 ep. 9, aired June 18, 2015) to Episode 4. After Episode 6, the order is restored. (And people wonder why fans pirate this series on YouTube!)Whoever or whatever the cause of the meddling ( **cough**executive meddling**cough**), Season 2 hits many plot development points. Thespian Jamie trying to swoon Garnet who is in--or rather IS--a relationship. A relationship we see is tested after Pearl tricks Garnet into fusing to Sardonyx. We also learn why fusion is so intimate and important to Gems and how it relates to human relationships. (Recall "Alone Together" in Season 1B). This point is accumulated in the episode "The Answer" (s.2 ep. 22, aired January 6, 2016) when we found out how Ruby and Sapphire met and how Homeworld society disapproved of their love for one another.Another highlight of this season, everyone's favorite breakout character returns! Peridot!

Beautifully written; gender-stereotype smashing
Steven Universe starts off looking like a standard screwball cartoon with some superhero action thrown in, but it grows (by late in season 1) into a story of tremendous proportion. All the characters have strengths and weaknesses, and fascinating backstory, from the four main character "crystal gems" all the way down to the mailman, the mayor, the town's conspiracy theorist, and the nonverbal enemies that they battle. Your understanding of each one deepens over time as Steven gets to know them and as the characters grow. This show seems to relish flipping gender stereotypes on its head. For example, it prominently features female warriors (of all body sizes and a variety of different strengths), while the men (especially Steven) tend to take more supportive roles (in family structure) or defensive roles (in battle). The show also does throw in a number of nods to homosexuality, so if you prefer not to let your kids watch that, just be aware. As for Amazon's delivery method: I loved that I could download episodes that I purchased onto my iPhone (using the Amazon Video app) ahead of time, for watching on flights or in other poor-network conditions! I also often watch on the website directly.

This show is absolutely the best. As of right now I'm pretty certain there aren't DVD releases of the full seasons up to this point, so this is the only "legal" way to obtain the show for veiwing if you don't have cable or have missed past episodes. While Amazon mis-orders and splits up the seasons in a manner that doesn't match the actual run of the show, it's still wonderful to see it.Steven Universe is easily one of the best cartoon television shows I've ever seen. The cast is full of interesting, complex, flawed but also likeable characters who have very real problems despite living in a very magical world. From Steven himself to his loser dad Greg Universe, to Pearl and Amethyst, even to Garnet, everybody is dealing with the kind of emotional difficulties that real people do-- depression, grief, loss, even self-doubt or fear of self-expression. In the end, though they may not always make the right decisions, everybody involved in helping to raise Steven loves him and loves helping him. By season three we're seeing Steven at a time in his life where he's feeling more like he's part of the team and ready to take on the sometimes scary challenges life has to offer.

Steven Universe is such a sweet, genuine show
(Note: I've only bought a couple episodes on Amazon, but this review is for the series as a whole)Steven Universe is such a sweet, genuine show. Watching it in release order is rewarding because the series introduces you slowly to a version of our Earth that's familiar but not quite the same, because of the presence of the Crystal Gems - rebel aliens who are the only survivors of a war fought thousands of years ago, who now do their best to protect the Earth. Meeting the gems - and Steven! - and learning about them through Steven's POV is great. Characters are generally kind and genuine, but with realistic flaws and emotional reactions. The music is top notch. Character designs are nice, and the show as a whole is well animated. Really strong color schemes at play - I'm wicked impressed by the lighting in certain scenes. Certain elements of the show call back to 80's nostalgia, but the show is of infinitely better quality in terms of visuals when compared to most anything from that era. Voice acting is great.I don't know, man, it's a kid's cartoon but it's super great and I enjoy it immensely.

So amazing
Steven Universe is criminally overlooked in this country (the UK) so i have to search online most of the time for any kind of merch. It's infuriating, as i want to support the show as much as possible. But i'm so glad i am able to buy the Blurays of this awesome show online. Season 3 is just as amazing as the rest, and looks brilliant on Bluray.

Another fantastic season of Steven Universe
I can't get enough of this show, I encourage everyone to watch it. Season 3's first few episodes finally give some payoff for what they were building up to in season 2 and my god was it worth the wait.
