I’ve always had good oral hygiene — brushing twice a day, flossing daily — and never had a cavity. Also didn’t really have an issue with staining until the last couple years, which coinciding with hormone changes from perimenopause. Apparently it can cause a lot of changes to oral health, including weakening your enamel, and thus make you more prone to staining. I got a brush-on fluoride treatment gel from 3M to help strengthen my enamel, but it’s stannous fluoride and wouldn’t help with staining. In fact it can cause staining. So I went all in and switched from my eco friendly toothpaste tablets to this. I’ve only used it two days now, but I’m impressed with the results. I can see a noticeable difference in the stains on the front of my teeth, and the backside of the front teeth on my lower jaw, which are prone to coffee stains. There’s still some stubborn stains in between a few teeth, but those are hard to reach and might need to be taken care of by my dentist. It’s expensive, for sure, but it’s worth it for me. I’m hoping I can get a handle on things and switch back after a couple months, maybe saving this toothpaste to use weekly or so.
