Bear in mind, I had a level 1 infestation that had been pretreated with vacuuming, linens washed and dried on hot cycle, diatomaceous earth, and lavender spray (they do NOT like lavender). I repeated the process of washing and drying two days later when this spray arrived. This stuff does kill on contact. It's a bit of an astringent scent, but not unpleasant and faded out from the time I applied it to bedtime. You have to be diligent as these little bastards can hide really well. Edit to add: found 4 or 5 more of the bastards after one week. Found a few more after another week, and a few more this last time. I'm switching to another brand that claims to have residual effect for two weeks. Four stars as it does what they say it does, but no residual effects after it dries, and the two sprayers received with the jug didn't work. Note: Get yourself a good spray bottle or a small pressurized sprayer and BE THOROUGH. Edit to add: If I were you, and this is your first time dealing with these vermin, use the stuff with a residual. I used it once, and found no signs of life after a week. I sprayed again to make sure sure. It smells much better too.

This product works well if you spray the bugs directly. It also seems to do a knock out job on the eggs if you spray them directly. & I mean saturate.. The down side to this product is that you must spray the insect directly. Treating an area where you do not see bugs will not kill them. I did an experiment where I placed a captured adult female bed bug in a glass jar along with 1 facial tissue. I put the bug and jar into gallon sized baggie. The bug immediately hid inside of the tissue folds. I then sprayed 1 spritz directly onto the tissue & waited 24 hours. After 24 hours, I opened the baggie containing the glass jar with bed bug & observed that the tissue was quite damp from the spritz of eco defense. I unfolded the tissue and the bug ran out at break neck speed completely unphased. Perhaps if I left it in there another 24 hours? But I don’t think so. So I decided I’d spray the bug directly and the bug was dead after about 3 minutes. I’m posting this review to let people know that this is a good safe alternative to conventional pesticides. However, if you have a wooden bed frame with many crevices pegs etc, or an expensive box spring that you do not want to throw away, this spray alone will not solve your problem. As far as I can see, experimenting on many surfaces, this product is very gentle. But there again... it’s only effective if you see the bugs and can spray them directly. Also, the first night I sprayed, I went back with eco defense & toothpicks searching crevices and previously sprayed hard to reach eggs had moulted, hatched & were crawling about. Re spraying the bed frame, I was able to kill more. There seems to be no residual killing affect once the spray is dry. So my opinion is using this product alone for even a moderate infestation in a bed frame will take many days to get control of. Then you will need to re spray every week until you no longer see bugs. I have vacuumed, treated cracks, crevasses bagged both my mattress and box springs and am still finding bugs in the framing tho each day is getting better. There is a very strong odor while spraying. I had to wear a mask with filter. After the product dries, there is a pleasant scent. I previously used EcoRaider in my daughters room years ago and it worked great with residual affect in killing. However, the scent was so strong (&she’s asthmatic) that she could not live in her room during the 60 days it took to completely clear the infestation. EcoRaider has silica which is deadly to bugs. I recommend that product if you can tolerate the long lasting smell & vapor in the air. Eco Raider followed up with a powder silica product in cracks and crevices will get the job done without the lasting odor. I’ve purchasec a 2nd gallon as weekly follow up treatments will be required. Good luck to everyone!

So I waited around a month to write a review. I wanted to wait to give a more accurate result. Instead of hearing people say they sprayed and saw no results. Well of course, nothing Is going to work overnight! Well I've sprayed several times and bugs have been dying off more and more. Yes I still have them. But I dont nearly see as many . I think it's well worth the money and keep in mind I'm a single disabled mother of 2 that gets a disability check of only 750 a month so I'm broke and dont have money to spend. After seeing bad reviews I was hesitant to try this but I'm glad something told me to get it anyways! Its working slowly but surely. I haven't came across anything that has had this type of results . And I hate having these pests I wanted to burn down my trailer! But that's stupid because I wont be able to afford anywhere else the bugs came with the house I purchased almost 4 years ago so 4 years of dealing with these pos bugs!! I'm sick of them! Well I will post another update when I'm done with bottle . But I do recommend this company. The only bad thing is I hate the smell and it burns my throat and had everyone coughing but I can deal with that because its helped ! Update June 17th 2020 I havent seen anything since I finished the bottle its been 9 months and I think this has been our miracle spray. I would recommend this to anyone dealing with these . But It does take work . You need to be faithful to spraying atleast once a week after a good spray and wash and move everything . I vacuumed my bed also and emptied the junk outside.

First: BUY A SPRAY BOTTLE!!!! The insecticide works great. The Geranium scent dissipated within 30 min. It is a fast acting insecticide. HOWEVER, the sprayer is USELESS!!!! When it works, the nozzle only shoots a single stream. You need a way to spray a fine mist that sprays wide. So, BUY AN EMPTY SPRAY BOTTLE with an adjustable nozzle. Don't forget to get a dedicated wide funnel for pouring.
