Helikon-Tex Urban Line, Low-Profile Protective Pads

I read reviews for other brands of knee pads all of which were about 6 mm (approx .25 inches) thick. The low marks had to do with the thinness of the padding. These Helikon-Tex Pads are also 6 mm think but I found them to be of quite adequate thickness. I’m 6’2” and 180 lbs and I use them in my Hel-Tex UTP pants when I’m backpacking. This means rocky, stony hard ground with plenty of sticks & thorns. So far no problems. They stay put & give good protection. Inserting them was a bit of a hassle at first but I figured out the hack of rolling them first then inserting them. I do remove them prior to washing the pants as I’m not sure how they’ll hold up with repeated trips through the was cycle.

Had to cut them a little bit and they are washable I keep mine in my 511 pants and wash both at the same time. I just wish someone would have gotten back with me when I asked are these washable. If you ask them a question don’t hold your breath on them getting back with you.

Works well. Fit is custom which means you can mess them up.Went to order more and the price jumped over 50% in a week. So I guess these are my last ones. Two thumbs down Amazon for price gouging.

I had a chance to run these pads all week in a class where kneeling was a major part. I put them in a pair of Helikon-text pants, but I did have to trim them a bit. No big deal. They gave me just the right amount of cushion and im glad to report they worked great.

Perfect fit out of box. Used in Helikon Tex outdoor Tactical Pant. No trimming necessary. Nice cushion.

After 5 washes that’s it. Save your money and look for something stronger like actual knee pad inserts or foam.

Work as advertised. Provide nice padding for kneeling on concrete/pavement or on hard, rocky ground.

Great fits perfect

These are designed to fit a range of Helikon pants (trousers), so need to be cut to the size/shape appropriate to the range - the template for this is on the rear of the box. Some reviewers report difficulties in inserting the inserts into the pockets - I've had no such issues with the SFU NEXT range. Yes, the opening is small, however, the pads roll easily into a 2 inch diameter sausage, which is then inserted into the pocket and opens up inside. The pads themselves are made of 6mm thick neoprene (the same material as a scuba wetsuit), so are perfectly happy getting wet - there should be no need to remove these to wash.

Not bad, not brilliant.First off you have to cut these to the right size for your gear which whilst not the end of the world is a bit of a pain. They offer a basic amount of protection but do allow you retain full mobility, however a slightly harder material would be nice.

As a Medic we spend alot of time on our knees. These knee pads are seriously an excellent product flexible and comfortable . Sold by a first class company who believe in Customer service.

Can't beat Military 1st for this or any Military or Bushcraft, Airsoft type products. A1 condition and came in 2days as all Military 1st products do!.....

Certainly make life easier. I won't be taking them out until I need to do the washing. Used in military clothing too.
