What color is the liquid supposed to be? Also, is it supposed to ship with the soap pump already poked through the safety seal?

The liquid was clear, and I believe ours was shipped with the pump in the bottle (no seal)

Does this have any grit to it?

No grit. I use a wash cloth to softly exfoliate.
