This is a great little set of toys for the pool or a local swimming hole. I first come across this type of toy at a hotel pool. Someone has lost one of their skimmers and my brother and I spent ages flicking / skimming the puck as hard as we could from one end of the large pool to the other. It was fantastic fun, skimmed extremely well and was soft enough that if it hit you - it wasn’t painful.When I saw this product for review I leaped at the chance. We have just spent the entire afternoon at a local swimming hole… and our kids used these for about 2 hours straight, lots of other kids an adults joined in on the games.I like that they are fun to use if you’re 4 years old or even an adult.The carry case is a very welcome addition and no doubt essential if you want to avoid these going moldy.Safe, fun, convenient and they float. So much better than the huge volume of cheap plastic sinking toys on offer these days. Better for hand and eye co-ordination and something that’s not going to take an eye out when throwing around.Lots to love, highly recommend. Don’t underestimate their simplicity!Incase you’re wondering - the inside feels like a firm gel - it’s slightly squishy.

They’re slightly squishy yet firm, making them comfortable to throw and catch. The outer skin has a fun tropical design, and while it absorbs a little bit of water, it never feels heavy or waterlogged.One of the best things about these balls is how well they skip across the water. It’s much easier than skipping stones, and I could consistently get three skips, sometimes even five! These water-play skim balls are a lot of fun. They materials and stitching seem durable, which is great. I also love that they come in a handy net bag—makes it super easy to carry them around and keep everything together.If you haven’t used a skim ball before, it does take a bit of practice, but once you get the hang of it, they skim across the water really well. The pebble shaped ones work even better for skimming as it's like skipping stones. Small children might struggle with the 'skimming' aspect a bit, so they’re best for older kids and adults. However, they still have a lot of play value as just being balls for water play. The bouncy material can also be quite hard (if it's thrown at you) but this is true of all skim balls. Overall, a fun and well-made addition to beach or pool days.
