What is the age requirement?

My 5 and 10 year old daughters play with it. Perfect for hard floors and carpeted floors as the ark has wheels underneath. It comes with the water motor option but must be purchased separately. Contains many small pieces, little fruits and veggies for toys that may pose a choking hazard for ages 4 and under to play with unsupervised.

Does it come with all the animals shown?

Yes it does. It comes with 2 people, animals and some small accessories. I bought this for my granddaughter and she loves it! It is worth the money!

What is the difference between the new 2017 version and the older pricier one?

The boat is a different color...the new one is red, the old one was brown. Noah and his wife look different, younger than the old set. Different birds in the new set (no raven, but they do have doves). The other animals are different, too. There are two giraffes, two zebras, but no elephants or sheep...the new set has orangutans instead of monkeys, and panda bears.
