Great AC unit for van camping
Works great! We use it for camping in our van. My husband fabricated a window vent. We just plug it in, move it into an open area so that it has room to "vent" and it works great, cools down the whole van! Collected a good amount of water when we were camping in a highly humid environment. Needed to empty the reservoir twice a day, but that was the only time we've ever had to even empty it. To be fair, temps of almost 100 degrees Fahrenheit and very high humidity in August in South Carolina. Our van is black too so it really attracts the heat. We really like this unit. It works best when we keep the van AC running while setting up the floor AC unit. Once the floor unit is running we turn off the van AC. Then it functions perfectly since it doesn't have to struggle to reach a cooler temperature. No regrets, great unit!

Works well, but if you're a light sleeper, there's one problem
The Good: This air conditioner blows nice cold air, and auto-evaporates moisture so it doesn't collect water (at least ours doesn't.) I'm in my sixties and had not too much problem carrying it upstairs, and I found it easier to install than a window A/C. The Bad: This thing appears to have a built-in Power Save (Or "Eco Mode") that they don't tell you about, and there's no way to disable it. What that means, is that it will sometimes shut off "fully" in the middle of the night (no fan noise.) If you are a light sleeper like me, this is bad, as I wake up instantly when this shuts down and it's suddenly dead silent. Around twenty minutes later it will turn back on. It's jarring. My wife sleeps right through it. Must be nice :) Note: If it's a really hot night, there's no problem, it just runs normally, but if it's a sorta-warm night, then the room gets cool enough that it decides to shut down completely. To solve this, I have started leaving the bedroom door open to let some warm air in. Outside of that, we really like this A/C.

Quiet, works extremely well, and i am so happy i purchased this for my rv. Super small -smaller than i expected but packs a big punch. This thing cools down the place instantly. Worth the investment 100%

Cannot sleep through the noise
I'm a little baffled by all of the positive reviews. 1) the unit is very LOUD - more so than other brands I have. I bought this for my bedroom and it's challenging to sleep with the noise level. I'm used to AC units but this is a brand new one and it loudly rattles & buzzes on top of the standard compressor/exhaust noise. 2) the end of the exhaust hose has little notches that attach to the panel that you put in the window. The notches are so small and shallow, I routinely wake up in the middle of the night because it's noticeably hot - only to discover the exhaust house has once again slipped out of the tiny notches in the middle of the night and the hot exhaust has been filling my room. 3) the vent does not automatically move (have a "swing" feature) so I have to put an oscillating fan right next to it in order to circulate the cool air. Otherwise only the section of the room in front of the unit is cool and everywhere else is warm. Disappointed for sure, would not buy again. I wish I could return it.

Dont buy this extraordinary loud AC unit!
This thing sucks. Its loud on every single settings. God forbid you change it to anything other than cool, low, and 60 degrees. It will THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP, THUMP and wake the household up. To top it off, it wont register button commands on the remote or the unit once it starts that for a good 60 secs to 5 mins. To top even that off - they dont offer service on them. Only a rebate to buy another device. Has to be another GE unit. This was the best rated GE unit I could find. I dont want a crumbier one. Id rather just have the money back and get a cheapie that sucks rather than a $350 one that sucks. Don't buy this. Youre gambling if you do. It cools, but its inconsistent as far as I can tell. However, the noise alone is worth not getting it.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Cool Comfort Where It Counts 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
👀 First Impressions Matter I picked this up for my small workshop in Florida, which usually turns into a sauna by midday. I already had a small AC unit in there, but it wasn’t strong enough to keep up with the heat. This GE 6,000 BTU portable AC has made a massive difference. It’s been cool and comfortable every time I’ve used it—so much so that I fully expect to keep using my shop all summer long, which I couldn’t say in years past. 👍 What I Liked • Setup was simple, and the included window kit worked as advertised—no cutting, no hassle. • I love the remote. I mounted it next to the light switch, so it’s easy to find and adjust on the fly. • The dehumidifier mode worked well, even in a Florida “winter” (which still isn’t exactly dry). • Quiet enough for a workshop—noise is minimal and never distracting. • Built-in wheels are great for portability, though mine’s staying put for now. • Energy efficient—estimated usage is about $90/year, which is reasonable for Florida. • Washable filter is super easy to access, clean, and reinstall. • The timer function is one of my favorite features. I can set it when I walk into the shop and not worry about forgetting to shut it off later. 👎 What Could Be Better • No complaints so far. It does what it promises—and does it well. 📦 Pro Tips • This is ideal for spaces up to 250 sq. ft. If you’re trying to cool anything larger, you’ll want to bump up to a higher BTU model. • Make sure the window kit seals tight and level—it’ll make a difference in performance. • If you’re in a humid climate, check the water tray or hose option occasionally, even though the auto-evaporation works great in most conditions. 💬 Final Thoughts If you need portable cooling that actually works—this is it. From energy savings to ease of use, this unit checks every box. Whether it’s a bedroom, office, or in my case, a small workshop, this little GE unit turned a sweatbox into a usable space. Couldn’t be happier. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Florida Workshop Approved 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
