Suspenseful and Awesome book
Finally I get to see how the story ends or does it begin here. You won't be able to put this book down. Gideon, Gwyneth, Lesley and Raphael take us on a journey to figure out the secret of the Closed Circle. Happy reading!

Good Conclusion to an Awesome Series!
I've been anxiously waiting for the conclusion to the Ruby Red trilogy since the cliffhanger ending of the previous book. Fortunately, Emerald Green does not disappoint! Gwen is still as fun and kooky as she was in the previous two books, and Xemerius (ah, Xemerius), had me cracking up even more than in Sapphire Blue. Kerstin Gier's final installment in the series will highly entertain you with the tale of a thoroughly confused time traveling girl and a crazy cast of characters as they discover the truth behind the chronograph. First, I'll begin by stating the pros:As soon as you pick up the book you're sucked back into Gwen's world, right where we left off. The author made sure to recap what had happened before without using a mass info dump, so the reader can read the story without being dragged down by information you've already heard.Next come the characters. Throughout the story Gier continues to show us her amazing skill of making her readers care for the characters. As I've already mentioned, they are as memorable as ever and stay true to the previous books. Another plus for me was that we got to see Lesley play a larger role in the time travel aspect of Gwen's life and Raphael became more involved as well. And of course, we can't forget Gideon. Thankfully for the readers, we don't have to suffer through as much of his hot and cold attitude as before and he won a lot of brownie points from me because of that. The time traveling part of the story is as exciting as ever! I loved every moment of it, and much to my relief this time around there were no embarrassing punch accidents or public performances of songs from the musical Cats. The ending of Emerald Green tied up all loose ends quite nicely, and while for some books this might annoy me I found it satisfying for this particular book. Also, any questions from the previous books are answered in this one. (I had a lot of "oooooohhhh" moments myself because of the explanations).Overall, the tone of the book was light and not serious at all, which was good. The pace was fast and I found the pages flying by. As another reviewer said, it definitely is a chick lit type book, but nonetheless enjoyable. Now, onto the cons:The plot of Emerald Green is there, but it hobbles along in leaps and jumps reminiscent of that of a three legged race. Often I would find myself going back to reread something, trying to figure out a character's logic. Also, while the plot itself didn't really lag, it didn't feel like it was building up to a definite climax, exactly. You knew something would happen, but the events in the book seemed to follow a more 'let's try this and see what happens' approach than a straightforward one. Contributing to my confusion was the time travel factor of the story. Obviously, in any time travel story there will be confusion, but it still made the story more difficult to understand.Another thing that bothered me was the sheer amount of drama in the story. While it does read like a chick lit, the amount of crying was unbelievable. In fact, during the story Gwen said she'd cried enough to help Africa in a drought. While some circumstances were understandable, others were not. Perhaps more sympathetic readers will tolerate it, but it was more an annoyance to me than anything.Altogether, the story is fantastic, and I enjoyed every second of time I spent on the series. While the third book wasn't as strong as it could have been or as memorable as the first book, it has its charm. I will most definitely read this series again and have already recommended it to several of my friends who also enjoyed it. If you want a unique plot based around time travel and heart warming characters, try the series and be pulled into the wonderful world that Kerstin Gier has created. I can wholeheartedly say you won't regret it!Rating: Four StarsBrooketheBookworm

Satisfying conclusion, but disappointed with parts
I am so sad that this series is over! I really loved the unique spin on time travel, the young love, and all of the secrets surrounding the Lodge. While Emerald Green was a really enjoyable conclusion to the Ruby Red trilogy, I found myself thinking about the things I would have changed. Since I loved this series so much, I was hoping for an earth-shattering end to the tale, but instead I finished feeling mostly satisfied, rather than blown away. The plot was as great as ever, we see Gwen constantly challenging the world around her (mostly because it is quite dodgy) and trying to unearth the secrets of the Lodge and the true purpose of Count Saint Germain. Now here is where my first problem comes in. It is quite clear (to me at least, and I suspect many others) what Count Saint Germain is really up to. We get the first inklings from the prophecy in Ruby Red and it is all but confirmed in Sapphire Blue. So when the entire plot was dedicated to unearthing Count Saint Germain's secrets and then stopping them, I was a bit jaded. Why hadn't Gwen figured it out yet when all the signs were there, in front of her? Why did the Lodge, allegedly composed of the most brilliant minds throughout history, not see the Count's purpose for what it really was? I can't help wondering if because the novel was originally written in German, the prophecy was harder to decipher in it's original prose. Perhaps the other "clues" in the novel were more subtle as well. Since I don't speak German I have no way of knowing (but if you know, let me know in the comments!).Since we all know by now that I adored Gwen and Gideon, I have to say that I still liked them very much in this novel. HOWEVER, when I realized that they had only known each other for two weeks, I was taken aback. So much happens in the novel that I forgot about the timeline all together. Two weeks though and they're professing love for each other? TWO WEEKS? That's absurdly fast.Despite the plot issues I had with Emerald Green at certain points, overall I really enjoyed it. I have been anxiously awaiting the conclusion to the series for a while and am so happy to have finally read it! Overall it was a great series and I am going to miss the Ruby Red world dearly.

4.5 stars.
Actually had such a good time over the last two days reading Sapphire Blue and Emerald Green, which I was not expecting. While this series isn't anything particularly different and it does have some issues (see: declaring love after one week and apparently meaning it), as long as you don't take these books too seriously they are really fun. I grew to love the characters and their dynamics with one another pretty quickly and I am honestly a little sad to be letting them go.I said in my Sapphire Blue review that the instalove in these books didn't really bother me and it bothered me even less in this last book. I was sucked straight back into the story and the plot, my only real issue - which I'm not even that mad about - was one small plot line around Dr. White that was left unresolved.Again though, I took this for what it was; a fast and easy 2010 young adult enemies-to-lovers time travel story full of angst and the odd ghost, which against my initial expectations I really liked.

The final book in the Ruby Red trilogy
“Emerald Green” is the third and last book in the “Ruby Red” Triology. It follows the events of “Sapphire Blue” and concludes the trilogy. After Gwen’s disturbing conversation with the count, she has lost all faith in Gideon’s love. Feeling alone, she continues on with her agenda, trying to reveal what Lucy and Paul had tried to prevent, along with trying to make sense of her relationship with Gideon.Okay… so… I have to say—I’m just going to come right out and say it:I will forever ignore the fact that this entire trilogy is supposed to happen over the course of 14 days only. It might be what the author wanted, but I refuse to accept that. Without that little fact, this entire series becomes so much better. No, but really… This book concludes the series, and while I finally got the big climax I was waiting for in each book, it sort of fizzled out all things considered.

A FEW SPOILERS ( A short Review)
I found Emerald Green to be a good Ending to the Ruby Red Trilogy but it could have been Better. The book was quite fast Paced so it was never boring and I actually ended the book in two days. However, I felt like there were so many Mysterious that weren't really concluded for example Elisabetta and Count Saint- Germain or the fact that Gwen turned out to be Lucy and Paul's child. How Comes the author never really wrote about the rest of the families surprise or how they ended up reacting to this news.Other than that I loved this book and especially the conclusion. And the Writing style Kerstin Gier Wrote the book was so Beautiful ( Odd how Writing Styles can be Beautiful but it was.)
