Service makes up for issues!
I order this is a light duty pole to keep for guests to use on the lake. Great accessories, compact package, good price. The reel handle cracked after nearly a year, so I emailed asking if I could purchase another. In a series of emails, all returned in 12 hours or less, they not only arranged a new handle FREE, but also shipped an entire new reel as a backup.

Great for Pier fishing and awesome customer service
Great telescopic rod. Easy to setup and store away. We're new to fishing. We've been trying the pier.. and been catching tons of mackarel. I would have given it a 4 star because of some reel problems..but the customer service are awesome!! Buy with confidence. I actually bought my 2nd rod...right after...

Not terrible, not terribly good, but VERY convenient
I rarely write reviews, but this one earned it with me. The reel is fine, the rod is less fine, but it is super convenient to keep in the car. In fact, because I had it with me, I was able to catch my first ever Musky while on a trip in Colorado. A one-day fishing pass and a convenient rod/reel was all it took. The line is fine, the lures are probably good/great for what you get. The grub hook broke in half as soon as I landed the Musky, so not the best quality. The reel is decent overall. The rod is the worst part, as the weird gold pieces spin and are annoying, but other than that, it works just fine. I've literally thought about buying a few more to keep around just in case.

AWESOME
Bought this combo for the main reason for to take with me on vacation to Tennesse. When got it had to try it out before taking it with me it works better than i expected. I love it, got to vacation spot and went fishing was using it to catch trout with joe flys it worked great. yes caught 2 that first morning. would buy again and highly recommend.

Broke during second trip
Fishing pole worked well for the first trip. On my second fishing trip, the extendable handle at the bottom became unglued from the threaded portion. Just something to note of the build quality.
