The chef i work with has an older version of this book and he actually prefers this edition as it has plenty of pictures. (He got his in the 80's). If youre studying cookery, Work as a chef, in the kitchen or even a budding cook at home this book is invaluable!

Excellent book for any cook/trainee chef. It is a book that (when I was younger anyway) was needed for training to be a chef. Highly recommend

Just what I needed
Ideal for cookery students. I find it very helpful for my nvq course. Technics are described in detail, with recipes to help you to master them. Pictures are good quality. Very good book, I would recommend it to students, but also to people with a passion for cooking and are looking to improve their skills.

Cooks Bible
I'm a ships's cook and have been using Practical Cookery since the 7th edition.It's an invaluable aid for the budding chef and always a good fall back for inspiration.The 12th edition does bring a fresher more modern slant than the previous versions I've used.

I bought this book years ago to assist me to complete my Nvq. My mum found it to be a good book for referencing and had some excellent recipes so I bought her this one.

So useful
i'm on a cookery course over in nottingham and we use this book for every lecture. its just great. incredibly useful and it's hardback too so it isn't so easily water damaged!

The book for level 2
I am now at the level 3 stage, but this book helped me through level 2. You could easily get through level 2 without this but it is easier with it.
