GS116PP

This thing is a tank. Purchased Jul 24, 2018 and it has been running everyday nonstop since August 2018. I believe it died yesterday as the network ports no longer work so I contacted support for replacement thanks to the lifetime warranty

Replaced a different POE switch with this one. It is working well so far. Powers all my cameras without much difficulty and seems faster than the other switch it replaced. The power is not in the unit, but in a separate box, so just know that will take up space. That should help with power dissipation and heat issues I have run into with other POE switches. Everything seems well constructed and it was nice to have rack mount brackets included. This review is for the GS116PP 16 port POE switch.

I'm using this for multiple raspberry pi's I have set up in a cluster configuration. The PoE is flawless. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to run security cameras or raspberry pi's.

Great value for a POE+ switch. Is about a 0.5U size but comes with rack mount pieces. Power brick is large and almost the same size as the switch so plan for that.

I had an earlier port switch, which was the bottleneck of my internet speed. This one immediately increased my speed to what I was promised by the internet provider. HUGE power supply, which had to be hung separately. Otherwise, easy quick installation.

I know people tend to read and write these elaborate long reviews, and while sure, they're often useful, the whole point of an *unmanaged* switch is that it be completely simple plug and play. This is. I've wired two full houses with these and never had an issue at all. Some general notes: - Works very well with the Ubiquiti WAPs, but get the EdgeRouter X, as the system just does not want to play nice with all routers. - PoE does a completely sufficient job powering the above access points. - Chaining switches, even different brands, pretty much no big deal. I wouldn't chain more than 3, but I have this feed my office which has a 4-port to some fairly high traffic computers and it's never been an issue.

This switch is works well and is nice and quiet (no fan) but I received a switch that was obviously used. There was no seal on the box, and the seals internally were all broken. Returning for a new one, which is what I paid for. The "used for new" thing has happened more than once with Amazon and it really needs to stop.

high speed, easy to hook up, brought this to network my stuff in the house that has ethernet ports to feee up my wi-fi can stream of roku on ethernet 6 six into this switch with no issues

I have 4 IP Cameras that I was using a 8-port switch with and wanted to upgrade to get more ports. After installing this switch, one of my cameras stopped working. I diagnosed for hours, tinkering with the cables and thought maybe the IP Camera was fried... Turns out this switch just doesn't give out enough power. As soon as I re-installed my old switch, it worked no problem. It's frustrating that this switch was rated for 183W but can't even power up 4 IP Cameras that are rated at 30W each. Very disappointing. I saw other reviews that mentioned it not giving out enough power for POE, but I thought for sure with just 4 IP Cameras I'd be fine. Nope!
