Casual Test Kit
This kit of 5 test strips is fine for occasional use to check on a few indicators of kidney function, protein, creatinine and specific gravity. It's easy to use, though you have to provide your own container, take out one of the individually wrapped teat strips and dip it in the urine sample. The results aren't very easy to read - my protein levels were normal, specific gravity told me I'd drunk too much water during the morning workout and creatinine levels were a bit low, possibly because of dilution. The colours on the chart aren't very precise so the kit is only good as a general indicator of health - if it shows an issue on the test strip then it's a indicator to go and see the doctor for a proper test. If you don't use this sort of test regularly then it's ok, but with only 5 test strips, it would be expensive for a frequent user.

Limited range of tests.
This kidney function test kit is an affordable and easy-to-use option for a quick check on key health markers. The kit includes five test strips, allowing for multiple tests over time, which can be useful for monitoring changes. Results are available almost immediately after dipping the strip, making it a convenient tool for at-home testing. The test covers three key elements: creatinine, protein, and specific gravity. While these markers provide some insight into kidney function, the range of tests is limited. Other urine test kits on the market offer a broader spectrum of results for a similar price, which may be worth considering for those looking for more comprehensive information. One drawback is that the individual packaging for the test strips can be tricky to open, making it slightly inconvenient to extract them. Additionally, interpreting the results can be challenging, as the color differences on the comparison chart are quite subtle. Proper lighting and careful attention to detail are necessary to get an accurate reading. Overall, this test kit offers a simple and quick way to check kidney function but may not provide enough detailed information for those looking for a more in-depth analysis. It is a useful tool for general monitoring, but for more comprehensive results, a wider-range urine test kit may be a better option.

poor value urine test strips
5 urinalysis strips to test for kidney function. The heading also mentions kidney infections. These strips would not help you if you are trying to detect a urine infection really, for those you need a full urinalysis strip although you might get a clue if you have protein in your urine. Really you need nitrates or leucocytes to demonstrate white cells and possibly blood. These also aren't ideal for testing kidney function, usually you are looking for haematuria blood in urine as well as protein. So these are a bit of a strange mix. I have no idea why they have included specific gravity for instance. Anyway, there are 5 strips individually wrapped in the packet, I have now used two and each time I have a small amount of creatinine but I am unconvinced, the colour came up immediately and I might try a test just with water. My conclusion here is these tests are expensive and really don't tell you very much. You would be better off going to see your GP or buying strips which contain about 12 different parameters to test. And then go to your GP.

Simple to Use, A Useful First Step
This is a surprisingly inexpensive test for kidney function by way of a dipstick which is a great first step if you have concerns about how well things are working in that department. I ordered this as a precautionary measure & have found it to be reliable. You must read through all the bumpf because it's not bumpf, it's your instructions & the explanation of what you're looking for & how to read the chart. Some of it is in rather small print so you may be tempted to skip that stage but don't. If you fluff it up there are 5 sticks to play with but if it's because you failed to read the instructions...well, I did warn you. If you do it right & want to repeat the test at different periods throughout the day, which is recommended when certain results appear, you have enough sticks to do so. The little card to read the levels of protein, specific gravity (how concentrated your urine is compared to water), & creatinine (waste material) is small. So small it could easily get lost so keep your eye on it & store it securely in the box. However, reading the results I found to be quite easy. You need your own cup to wizz in but you don't need a tumbler of urine, the dipstick test part is at the end & quite short. You need to be quick as results are almost immediate once the dipstick is wet. All in I found this very useful with a slight warning for me so will do the test again on a different day & at a different time. Not running to A&E but it's good to know that there's more than one stick so the tests can be repeated if in doubt. Easy to use, appears to be accurate, good value. Recommend

Reasonable test kit. Tricky to extract the test strip. Minor documentation inconsistencies.
This is a reasonable test kit that covers just three relevant tests. The kit comes with five individually sealed test strips, instructions, a few other leaflets of blurb and a printed sticker with the colour coding. Ease of use A test packet is easy to open, however I found getting the strip out to be difficult. It is relatively short, and the end wasn't near the top of the packet to grip. Shaking the packet did not help either. The packet is resistant to tearing other than at the top, so I ended up cutting the packet to extract it. Using the strip itself was easy, and it should be read after 60 seconds. Initially I thought that my specific gravity reading was off, which it always seemed to be with other tests too, and the Creatinine read was slightly above the expected value. I then looked at a sheet of "helpful hints for reading your results", and realised that the first column of colour blobs does not indicate normal range as I'd always assumed it to be with test strips, and that my readings were actually fine. It would be better if the rows of blobs on colour charts were aligned so all blobs in the normal range lined up in the same column, extending blobs both to the left as well as the right as needed, but this isn't the case. Discrepancies Normal SG is given as 1.016 to 1.022 on the "helpful hints" sheet, and 1.015 to 1.025 on the main product sheet. Protein is given 1 to 14 mg/dL on the hints sheet, and 30+ as being abnormal on the product sheet. The product sheet describes one or two strips being provided though there are actually five. Overall a reasonable kit, with some room for improvement.

Doubtful about the results
This kit may give a useful guide but seems a poor substitute for blood tests. I have regular kidney blood tests because of some of the prescription drugs I take. My blood creatinine levels in the most recent tests have been: 66, 79, 83, 92, 89, 96. Indications from these test strips suggest 50-60 in urine. That’s the result of four tests in the last week. The reading in blood should be in the range 65-110, I believe, but I'm not sure what to expect of a urine reading. My 50 reading does seem on the low side, given that 50 is the lowest reading on the chart (see photo). That makes it out of line with the most recent blood test (96, in a 65-110 range). I'm no expert, however, so it may be best to ignore me! I’m not routinely tested for protein or specific gravity, so can’t comment on those. My feeling is that it may be worth using the kit but not relying on the results. Over time, it could show trends, and that’s probably as important as ad-hoc readings. There’s little to lose by trying it, given the affordable price.

Simple to use, rapid results
This is an extremely simple, at home test for kidney function. It focuses on three items proteins in the urine, the specific gravity of the urine (the concentration of the urine) and the amount of creatinine in the urine. This test is extremely quick (you can conduct and get results in 60 seconds) and comes with a set of 5 individually wrapped strips and a comparison chart. It is very easy to compare colours to establish a result on each test. You dip the strip in the urine for 2 seconds, clear of excess and wait 60 seconds. It says to compare at exactly 60 seconds, so I found the best way of doing this was to set a time on a smart speaker and then taking a photograph at 60 seconds, so I could take my time doing the comparisons and refer to them later. I would say up front that when first doing this test I was a little worried as I am quite used to the “good” result being the reference one on the left and “bad” results being further to the right. The tests for Specific Gravity and Creatinine are actually looking for higher levels so the good results are further to the right, whilst protein is the one on the left. I was a little worried until I read the interpretations of the results and it may be an idea to read this section first, All in all a good kit, easy to use and regarding key kidney functions, with very rapid results and a high claimed accuracy. I think it is a good kit.
