Would be great if we could actually preorder this rather than miss out due to scalpers?

Yes it would be great because my son NEVER get any of the consoles because I'm a single mom and I can barley afford to pay the Amazon price if i work with no off days on both my jobs to get overtime but there is NO WAY i could possibly make enough to pay scalper prices so every freaking Christmas my son is disappointed year after year and I continue to feel like crap. Thanks to all the scalpers trying to make a profit some kids are getting cheated

I managed to buy mine via Microsoft last night on pre-order seconds after it went live.
To those thinking no one will pay 1k for this- Look at Ebay right now. Highest selling console is an auction @ $3500. This will definitely be an item scalpers rush towards, be ready to buy, have your card saved for pre-order check out!

Can i preorder one of these before all the scalper bots do?

Hint: Follow “GYXdeals” and “mattswider” on twitter and turn on tweet notifications from them. Turn on twitter push notifications on your phone as well so you know the second they tweet. Those accounts instantly post when consoles go back in stock at any retailer and include a link to the product page. The accounts also post tips on when they expect restocks and sometimes even provide a link that adds the item to your cart when you click it. Very very helpful for anyone trying to beat a bot that doesn’t want to refresh the page 18,000 times a day. “Wario64” does the same thing but also tweets about a ton of other products so your phone would be going off a lot. So due to the high demands of this console its never gonna be available for purchase? Cuz it never came out for pre order

I want to know what they're going to do about this. A lot of us never got word on any  of the drops for any of the retailers that did and they dropped them all under our noses with no fair chance to get them. Now we're going to have to hope there are some other drops or fall under the demanding prices of the scalpers online.
