Used to repair a book, fantastic & invisible

The tape sticks well once you manage to get the backing tape off which is quite fiddly but that's ok. However, the tape is not at all transparent, it's white in colour and when used over a piece of text the text is totally obliterated. Disappointed on that front.

I bought this tape hoping it would provide an invisible repair to a valuable old book. However, despite applying neatly and burnishing with a tool, the opaque tape stands out most vividly. If you don't care about the cosmetic appearance, the tape is good, but if you were hoping for an invisible repair, forget it. I also found the tape extremely fiddly to work with. It kept unspooling spontaneously, taking ages to respool. Furthermore, there really isn't much tape for the money. You'll be lucky to do half a dozen repairs before it runs out as you will likely waste a good deal in the process. All in all, very disappointed. I wanted tape that would repair pages in old books without drawing attention to itself but this fails to deliver on that key front.

Excellent for repairs such as mounted prints and the like - very impressed, but I'll stick to Wheat Starch glue for book pages where both sides need to be viewed. Like all adhesive tapes, positioning is everything and you only get shot at getting it right !.

Just the item to repair torn book pages plenty of strength , slightly visible after use but does the job . Recommended

I was so heartsick when I tore a page! I really did not know what to do. I thought of regular tape, then I remembered seeing old tape yellow, harden, and fall off; leaving the original tear still a problem. Then I found this archival tape online. I am so glad I did!!! Pros: * First, the tape did it's job. The tear is repaired well. * The tape is thin like a scripture page. The weights match. * The end result is perfect! I can't see the tear unless I look for it. I can't even see the tape on the page! Cons: * It is difficult to tear the backing off because the tape is thin. * The tape rolls up sticking to itself as you tear the backing off. We had to have someone hold the tear shut while someone else put the end of the tape down while pulling on the tape in order to cover the entire tear. A two-person job. But, it really worked well! * There are yellow dots of glue, as other reviews have mentioned, I think to hold the circle of tape to itself in shipping. I really didn't care because I just needed a few inches of clean tape. I would purchase this again!!!

Compré edte articulo para reparar un par de cosas antiguas y delicadas pero me ha decepcionado. Primero, es casi imposible quitar la parte adhesiva del fondo. Segundo, no lo veo muy diferente a una cinta adhesiva normal, un poco más finito quizas pero ni invisible, ni nada. Por lo que cuesta y lo que ha tardado en llegar, mejor comprar algo en la papeleria
