Fasten your seatbelts when a rampaging two-ton crocodile with an insatiable appetite is set loose in the city. With the army on the hunt Croczilla will terrorize innocent people while a sexy model tries to recover millions from its belly. In the tradition of Jaws and Piranha, Croczilla, is a wild ride of a creature feature; showing that Japan was just the appetizer! Review: A fun romp! - My husband and I saw this movie on a pay channel and found it to be fun and entertaining and was really happy to find it here on desertcart. The movie is Japanese but the audio is in English or Japanese, and the film quality is great. That woman chasing the giant crocodile because it ate her purse is a riot! It has something for everyone, comedy, gore, romance, action, adventure, and even some cheezy parts. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as we did! Review: Well made Asian giant Croc movie - This review is for the standard DVD edition of 'Croczilla' released by Screen Media Films in 2013. This is an Asian movie but is dubbed into English. This movie is quite good and is better than most in this genre. There is quite a bit of comedy and this movie would probably be better off labeled as a monster movie/horror hybrid. Oddly enough, despite the comedy throughout, the beginning and the end of the movie is quite serious and depressing. This is not your typical SyFy channel giant lizard, snake, hybrid, etc. movie. The title is sensationalistic. The principal creature or crocodile in question is really just a large crocodile about 8 meters long. Of course, the behavior and strength of the crocodile is greatly exaggerated but it is still just a regular crocodile. That aside, the actually crocodile action scenes will be similar in scope to all the other giant alligator, crocodile movies out there. PLOT/SUMMARY: Amao, is an 8 meter long crocodile that has just been sold to a group of people who run an exotic food restaurant that specializes in crocodile meat. Amao, was raised in a small crocodile park run by a young boy's (Xiao) grandfather. They buyers lie about their intentions. Amao, breaks free at the moment he is to be turned into food. He kills one of the restaurant employees and escapes to a plantation. Meanwhile, Wen Yan, who just got back from Italy after working for ten years gets dumped on the side of the road by her now ex-boyfriend. She ends up on the plantation and is attacked by a starving Amao. She escapes but not before Amao eats her handbag which contains her life savings of 100,000 Euros. She heads off to the local police where she meets 'Wong Way' Wang. Wang happens to be little Amao's father. Apparently his wife and little Xiao's mother took off for Italy. Wang doesn't believe Wen Yan at first but then after a little investigating realizes the story is true. Wen Yan refuses to leave without her money and follows Wang to his home. She ends up watching Xiao while Wang is out hunting the Crocodile. Meanwhile the greedy restaurateurs find out about the money in the croc's stomach and go hunting for it along with the police. Amao's trainer joins the hunt which leads to a showdown. Be prepared for a sobering ending. PRODUCTION/COMMENTS: The original title was Million Dollar Crocodile. Even though it's 100,000 Euro's, it's a million in the local currency. Thus the name. I'm guessing it was really Yuan instead of dollars. The title was obviously changed for release in the United States to be more marketable. -In my opinion this movie is well done. -The overall premise of the movie is quite sad but most of the movie is funny. -The CGI crocodile is, at times, well done. It's got some good polish on it and some of the time it actually looks real. There are some times where it becomes obvious it's CGI as well. This depends on time of day. In the evening, the outline of the CGI crocodile stands out more. Overall, I think I'd give the effects an 8/10. -As has been pointed out, there is a nude scene involving young Chinese boys. In this day and age, I'm surprised that these scenes even exist or weren't deleted out of the U.S. version. Of course, this was filmed before 'MeToo'. The argument can be made that nude scenes in general aren't necessary in most movies, they exist for a purpose. Men in general like seeing naked women. But we don't usually see underage girls nude in movies. Filming naked boys is just asking for trouble. Asian's aren't all that 'squeemish' about violence and there is a lot more of it in movies made for kids. But nudity in Asia is still frowned upon. More so with hardcore movies. They still block out parts of adult movies. RECOMMENDATIONS/CONCLUSIONS: I'm giving this movie 4 stars. I think it is quite well done taking into account the genre and the budget. I believe the overall desertcart score might be slightly down because of the aforementioned 'nude' scene that I talk about in the 'COMMENTS'. Recommended for all fans of large reptile, snake movies. Recommended for fans of imported Asian films. Recommended for fans of SyFy channel lower budget movies.

Great movie to watch with mom!
This movie is great! Loved watching it with my mom. I'm a 28 year old guy and I live 2 hours from my parents. I went home over Halloween and mom and I watched this together. We hadn't laughed that hard in a while. As cheesy as this movie is as well as the storyline it was really enjoyable. I got 2 copies. 1 for me and the other for mom for Christmas.

What a croc!
I know we probably shouldn't but we just love these horrible movies! We have a pretty huge selection of "creature" movies and this just kind of falls in place with most of them. None will ever be Oscar contenders, but most of them are pretty entertaining. If you like this kind of movie, you'll probably like this movie.

Not quite a "monster" movie
What an oddly sweet and funny "monster" movie. The title, of course, is very misleading. (The original title wasn't much of an improvement, though more to the point.) Yes, this particular crocodile is bigger than normal and she did dash through a building, but she isn't Godzilla-big nor does she possess any special powers. The story involves several converging scenarios. There's a man who buys some crocodiles allowing the owner to believe they're going to a zoo (he actually plans on serving them to customers). The BIG croc in question is loath to become anyone's meal and escapes. An irate young woman (I found her funny, some might not), comes across the escaped croc and loses her handbag (containing her life savings in cash) down the gaping maw. She tries enlisting the help of the police (here her tactics prove to be quite persuasive through sheer persistence alone), and ends up with a guy who's notorious for not being able to shoot straight. Paths criss-cross, hunters get involved once the stomach contents are well known; it's oddly endearing how these strange people end up impacting each other's lives. I liked this movie. But it is less about the crocodile and more about the various people in hot pursuit. Yes, things get a little bloody from time to time and yes, there is a skinny dipping scene with a group of little boys in the same lake that the crocodile heads for. It makes for a tense moment. It's a keeper.

To put is mildly lousy. Poor acting, bad storyline, very bad CG. I am being kind by giving it one star.
