Since receiving I have only tested basic features like scanning for error codes on a Volvo EX30, Fiat 500 and BMW F30 which this performed fine on all 3. It also allowed me to change parameters and code features like disabling stop start. Then out of no where my F30 kept going into limp mode and I used this to attempt to diagnose the issue. Codes were pointing to a fuel pump issue but it was a rather generic code (the fault of BMW not the scanner) but I was then able to monitor the live readings of the HPFP and it was clear that was at fault. Let my garage know and they confirmed it and so saved me a diagnostics charge. A really brilliant tool for those who are repairing cars as a hobby/living.

Machine for the Money seems ok to be fair. Only used twice, so far so good. My main moan is I got with obd lead. Way way too short. Wish now I got the Bluetooth. 4 star is for the lead !! To be fair this let’s the machine down . Lead is real pants

Really brilliant diagnostic kit. East to plug and play. Options to identify car make and model. Brought up old cleared faults as well as new faults linked to the engine management light that annoyingly appeared on our Mercedes. Worked out quickly what it was linked to, save a very expensive garage trip. I havent had much comparison to alternative products but I was very pleased at the user friendly interface and the design and build of the device itself. Comes in a nice carry case too

Thinkcar ThinkScan 689 OBD2 Scanner: This will do more than just scan the car and list some codes for you and in the long run you will thank yourself for investing in it and your knowledge. It is a rough and ready device that is both small but large enough to have a lot of data on the screen at the same time. Where some people may use a laptop this comes in as an easier to handle alternative. I've used it on a Honda Civic and an M4 and I am waiting to see if I can get my hands on a truck to try the device on that too. Each operation has gone smoothly with no faults in the device itself. It has however found faults, and what I couldn't resolve myself, I felt better knowing that I had the details to be more specific at the garage. Having owned many BMW's my biggest issue with them is that one problem can multiply the number of faults pinging at you and depending on where you go for advice, you could end up down the wrong rabbit hole trying to fix something that doesn't need fixing. With this device I am pretty much getting right to the meat of things and leaving the bones well alone.
