Assassin's Creed II: The Complete Official Guide

I now own all 5 of the current Assassins Creed games that are currently out there, but the Ezio Trilogy is my favorite so far. This particular game introduces Ezio from his birth and you get to know his entire family and the roles they played in what led up to his being the leader of the Assassins Guild. A lot of historical characters along the way, that I am sure you will recognize including Da Vinci, who became a lifelong friend of Ezio's. As I mentioned earlier, I now have the newest Assassins Creed: Blackflag pre-ordered through Amazon and I am looking forward to playing that as well (comes out on 29 October, for those of you who are interested).

Piggyback has released the Complete Official Guide for Assassin's Creed II - and complete it is. This guide features a in depth look at everything the game has to offer. Campaign, Side Quests, Hidden Tombs, Unlockable Armour, Uplay features, Concept Art, breakdown of characters and a walkthrough guide to achieve that 100% synchronization ingame. This guide is the perfect addition for any gamer and fan alike. Definitely a must buy!

I was getting tired of looking up online all the places for items in the game. This guide was alot of help in this effort. It even gives some back story for those, like me who are just starting to play this series. The only detractor was the abbreviated manner in help sort out the puzzles. This still requires some trial and error.

I'm always disappointed by a Piggyback guide for Assassin's Creed that doesn't hit the magic standards set by 'Assassin's Creed III - the Complete Official Guide' (see my review here) and I'm afraid that this guide to Assassin's Creed II is another that is just shy of the perfect mark. It is still excellent, remarkable, wonderful, a joy to read, and a must buy. So why do I say it has failed to hit perfection when it's a beautifully produced book, from the artwork in and around the 'super-visual walkthroughs' to the nicely crafted narrative as found in the 'extensive story recap' and the 'reference & analysis chapter.'How can I possibly complain, and drop my rating by a star down to four even, when you get a 32 page section that features behind-the-scenes material and revelations, well they were at the time I guess, from the game development team.Yes, it's a 100% complete guide covering all missions, side quests and secrets.Yes, it's a must have if you are either revisiting Assassin's Creed II or just happen to be, like myself, a sad old man who really loves the entire franchise and imagines himself as some kind of Ezio or Edward Kenway character.But, and it's a bigger but than you'll find on the cuddly lady who has started singing, it's too bloody short! This one comes in at 225 pages compared to 338 for the aforementioned pinnacle of the guidebook art, the Assassin's Creed III guide.Would I still recommend you buy it? You betcha, it still has four stars and my (almost) total respect. Within seconds of opening the cover, you will feel the same...

A first class game guide from Piggyback. For those who want to get the most out of their gaming experience then this guide will help no end - beautifully printed, laid out and of very high quality - with lots of background info, stats and everything you need to know to enjoy the game to the full. As an older mature gamer (over 50s) I often get left behind in most games and find that the guides help me get the most out of the single player mode. I don't consider it cheating, just a helping hand when I get stuck or need advice. And, being of the age group which can still enjoy books for their own sake, these guides are always well worth reading simply for their own sake and for the awesome artwork! Lots of clear screen shots, easy to read instructional text on white or pale backgrounds, detailed area maps, and background and character info make this easy to read and informative. Well laid out and easy to use even while playing. It allows me to see what I am supposed to co when I get stuck at certain points in the game.

Compared to the black flag tip book i have,this is more like it.Fantastic book.It`s like reading a book from a well know writer.I only use these books if i am stuck as back up to move on in a game,as i`m only a part time player.This book does not let down.Along with the excellently packaged service and distrabution
