Columbia Men’s Glennaker Lake II Rain Jacket

This will be a sort of group review, as I had friends over when this jacket arrived. I tried it on and while I loved the color, it felt huge on me. (I have a 44" chest and got the large). Everyone else thought it was cool and beautiful and supposed to fit that way. A couple of the guys offered to take it off my hands if I didn't love it. One of the women (who is a bit of a compulsive shopper and seems to know a lot about these things) pointed out that the shoulders fit me perfectly and that I shouldn't pay attention to the extra room in the torso. You should have extra room in a rain jacket like this one so that you don't get all sweaty if you're using it on its own, I learned. It also leaves enough room for you to use it as an outer layer over a nice sweater or base layers. It is a very handsome jacket with the quality workmanship you can expect from Columbia. The pockets are deep and the packed hood gives the collar a cushy feel. This is the kind of rain jacket that I might keep it at the ready or leave in the car because it is easy just to pull over and it really covers a lot of you. If you're walking the dogs or out for a hike, this is the kind of lightweight garment that can really come in handy.

I bought this for my husband and he likes it. It feels good quality for the price. The zipper is a bit sturdy (at least for me). I thin it is true to size and has regular fit. The protection in low to moderate rainfall.

This has done the job for what I need it to do. Has kept me dry in light rain. Have used it in any heavy rain, but for the usual light rain stuff its been good to go.
