Do these work on mackerel?

To be honest I don’t know how large a mackerel is. I ordered this tweezer set hoping to use it on Alaskan Sockeye and Silver salmon and I found the tweezers much too big. They’re quite clumsy to use in my opinion as well. I wound up using a Revlon eyebrow type tweezer that worked to remove fish bones very well actually.

Is the delivery timely?

Yes. I received them a few days after ordering.

Are these good for food styling, or would a product that is more tongs than tweezers be better?

I do really like the offset tweezer (the one with the long "lower half") for placing items cleanly onto sauced plates, placing microgreens on proteins, placing garnish on top of soup, etc. The other three would be clumsy in those types of applications. All four are useful for very specific deboning and scaling of fish, although even there they are situational and a good pair of fish pliers is the primary tool -- these are nice to have, though.
